birch legs

Thursday, December 30, 2010. I have come to the realization that I am an occasional blogger.very occasional. But I guess that's how it is. Running has been up and down for the last few months. With the sports hernia on hiatus, running has been OK, but the jury is still out on how it will react to an increase in mileage. It seems that 25-30 miles a week works pretty well at this point. Have a happy and healthy new year! Thursday, April 15, 2010. I am hoping to save some of my season but who knows what the...

birch legs: September 2008

http://birchlegs.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 8, 2008. First off I would like to thank Larry and Colleen Pederson and all the volunteers for putting on a fantastic race that is a first class operation from start to finish! Now to the race report. What was my plan? I was stunned when Michelle told me that Adam Harmer had dropped at this point because of an achilles problem. I knew he was honed for this race and felt terrible about it. The next couple of sections of trail were a blast to run and I had a great time even though my stom...

birch legs: June 2008

http://birchlegs.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 19, 2008. I mentioned in my KM100 race report that I would follow up with a "lessons learned" post.so here it is:. Run your own race. Everybody hears this all the time, but how many people really follow this rule? In a hot race, ice is your best friend. Ice in your hat. Ice in a bandanna. Ice in your shorts. Ice in your water bottle. As. Mentioned in his blog.ice in your Moeben arm sleeves. Ice is good. Be flexible in your nutrition plan, but have a plan. Monday, June 9, 2008. I’ve b...

birch legs: Just cut the toe off and throw it away

http://birchlegs.blogspot.com/2009/06/just-cut-toe-off-and-throw-it-away.html

Thursday, June 4, 2009. Just cut the toe off and throw it away. Just a quick update for the one or two people who still check in on this blog.I decided to have surgery on my toe, the greater joint of the big toe to be exact. I am looking forward to being able to run more and walk around in bare feet on the beach (or in my house) with no pain. Looks like about 6-8 weeks back to running and back to work. Good luck to all the runners heading to KM and FANS.looks like perfect weather! June 4, 2009 at 10:31 AM.

birch legs: February 2009

http://birchlegs.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Yes, I am still alive and running.just not sure how much I like blogging though. I do enjoy writing my race reports as a way to record the experience from my perspective. I think I will keep this blog going but I am not sure how much I will actually put up here outside of race reports.I do enjoy reading other blogs though. For anyone out there checking in every so often.thanks and keep a lookout for race reports. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Minneapolis, MN, United States.

Ribar Adoption Adventure: June 2008

http://ribaradoption.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 30, 2008. It all started last Saturday (not this past one but the one before). I babysat my nieces, and when I was driving home afterward, I just started feeling down. I got home and was trying to study, but started reading blogs. I clicked on my friend Renee's blog. Is forever enough, is forever enough? How long do you want to be loved? Saturday, June 28, 2008. Wife: Honey, sit down. I have some news for you. Husband: What is it? An US Immigration I-171H adoption approval form? There was ju...

Birchleaves Blog

Sunday, April 20, 2008. Item 8: RSS and Newsreaders - Find Some Feeds. RSS feeds are really interesting. The Technorati site I found confusing although it was listed as most popular. I found the Google Blog search the easiest and have added a few RSS feeds to my Bloglines. I added the National Geographic , a couple of dog feeds, the Untours RSS feed for Bavaria, the NYT book review (very handy to get coming automatically instead of searching for new titles! Sunday, March 16, 2008. 7 RSS and Newsreaders.
