Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary and Mannar - Batch1 - 22 to 25 Jan.2011. Our stay was with Gireesh Chandran, a lawyer by profession and a good bird guide by hobby :-). After few seconds we all could see a male Frogmouth sitting quitely on a branch. We also saw a Bark Gecko carrying eggs. The eggs could be seen clearly. We observed a group of 37 Skimmers going from one end of the Chambal river and settling down for sometime before going across the river. 130 hot bliggity blog. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Still hot here. So am not seeing as many 'unusual' birds, just House Finches and the occasional Cardinal or Carolina Chickadee. However, we took a little trip to the mountains in western Maryland recently, and I saw 'new' birds! The weather there is so much cooler, we love it! Here are my snaps from a trip to the local Natural Area I visited around the 24th of July:. I spotted a Yellow-Crowned Night Herons! And did I mention the red eyes? Such a pretty bird.
