Birding Sudan: December visit to Bahri
http://birdingsudan.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-visit-to-bahri.html
A blog for anyone with an interest in the wild birds of Sudan. Tuesday, 16 December 2014. December visit to Bahri. Marwa and I were at Bahri Sewage Pools again last weekend. We caught lots of Northern Masked Weavers and Sedge Warblers, plus a few Reed Warblers and other birds. The weavers had all moulted out of breeding plumage and were in bright, fresh non-breeding plumage. A few juveniles were still in the final stages of wing and tail moult. Little Bee-eater, Bahri Sewage pools 12th December 2014.

Birding South Sudan: September 2012
http://birdingsouthsudan.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Birds in the world's newest country. Sunday, 2 September 2012. My last trip had to be along the Terekeka road, the most productive easily accessible areas near Juba. I only went a few kilometres up the road - I still had to pack for my flight. Some birds posed in the morning sunshine, including a Black Coucal and a Black-and-White Cuckoo. Female Eastern Violet-backed Sunbird. I then attempted to photograph two batis: these are attractive small flycatchers. There are two possible species here: Black-h...

Birding South Sudan: March 2012
http://birdingsouthsudan.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Birds in the world's newest country. Saturday, 31 March 2012. Northern Bahr el Ghazal. A work field trip to Aweil and Nyamlel (about 80 kms to the NW of Aweil) gave a few brief opportunities to watch birds. In Aweil, a second look at some glossy starlings with long tails revealed that they were indeed Long-tailed Glossy Starlings. I saw them at dusk, so only an i.d. photo. I stayed in a pleasant compound in Nyamlel, where resident species included numerous Speckled Pigeons and Blue-naped Mousebirds.
