Http:/ www.birdingthefuture.net. Research indicates we are living through the Sixth Extinction where loss of species and biodiversity is occurring at an alarming rate. Across culture and continent, birds have been seen as message bearers able to communicate the future, announce changes in weather and warn of coming disaster. Is an interdisciplinary project that poses a number of questions in response to this crisis: What does it mean that we can only see and hear extinct species through technology?

Birding the day away !!

Morocco Family Trip Feb '18. Saturday, 3 March 2018. I managed to keep it a secret for over 7 months they knew that they were going on holiday but had no idea where, so on the morning of the 3rd February once we were all at Gatwick airport I revealed the location of Morocco . The 4th Feb and another 4 hour drive towards Tinghir with a stop at Dade's Gorge . The 5th Feb and only a 3 hour drive towards Merzouga with the aim to arrive at our hotel in the dark! Today the 6th February and its. And what better...

Birding at The Lodge

Birding at The Lodge. Monday, 24 October 2011. Yesterday was Feed the Birds Day. At The Lodge, so several staff members were on site, including Tony Payne, here with his family. Thankfully, he had bins with him, which allowed him to find a Black Redstart. Bouncing around on the roof of the Avocet Building (where, incidentally, I work). He beat Bash to it by seconds, so BX remains a glaring hole in the latter's self-found Bedfordshire list. I believe Steve has photographic evidence. Thursday, 12 July 2007.

A Stour Valley Birders Diary

A Stour Valley Birders Diary. Wednesday, 1 January 2014. Mortens' Murre and Chasing the Loon. Soon the news broke that the Brunnich’s Guillemot was still in the harbour but unfortunately was always in the most shaded part of the harbour throughout our stay. My poor phonescoped White-billed Diver attempt! After a good time watching this remarkable bird we moved a few miles up the coast to take in the opportunity to see Cirl Buntings at Broadsands. The last time I saw Cirl Buntings in Britain was on 21.
