Join Brian, Jennie, Emma and Alliana Snead for on a journey to explore the out islands of the Bahamas. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. 06-17-09 Crossing the Atlantic (Abacos to North Carolina). Time to leave the Bahamas! We had great weather but little wind. Once in the Gulf Stream, we really got cruising. It is great to see 9's and 10's on the GPS. Eighty miles off Cape Canaveral, we were reminded what we had been missing for the past 6 months. The launch was scrubbed because of thunderstorms. It seems li...

Friday, August 22, 2008. The Erie Canal - First few days. Hey everyone reading this we have had a great time on the Erie Canal. It is really neat. It is very small compared to the lakes. It is only 90 feet across and 300 miles long. On each side of the canal there is a tow path where the horses would pull the barges. (That was a long time ago.). Hey there again long time no see! This is another post from Geneva! That is when the cave drips on you. Wow, I must have a lot of luck! Well that was my favorite...

Join Brian, Jennie, Emma and Alliana Snead for on a journey to explore the out islands of the Bahamas. Sunday, February 22, 2009. Staniel Cay, Exumas. Feb 14th – Feb 22nd. Staniel Cay is a mile marker for us since this is the most Southern port we visited in our 2006 trip to the Bahamas. Engine trouble made it impossible for us to continue that trip. Staniel has an awful lot of things to offer the visiting cruiser. From Swimming Pigs to Grottos to snorkel, there is always something to do. Right around th...

Join Brian, Jennie, Emma and Alliana Snead for on a journey to explore the out islands of the Bahamas. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Berry Islands - Devils - Hoffmans Cay. We were sad to leave our friends on Great Harbor Cay, but we can't stay in one piece of paradise for ever. Try explaining this to Emma and Ally. They never want to leave where we currently are. But, we entice them with what is to come at the next anchorage. We released the Mackerel. But kept the others. The snapper with garlic, ginger, ...

Join Brian, Jennie, Emma and Alliana Snead for on a journey to explore the out islands of the Bahamas. Thursday, December 11, 2008. Thanksgiving in Vero Beach. Thanksgiving in Vero Beach is a wonderful event for cruisers. With inexpensive moorings and being rafted up with like minded people, the community is strong. Hundreds of cruisers shared a terrific potluck Thanksgiving dinner. In Vero Beach, we were rafted with two other catamarans, "Valkyrie" and "Slow Mocean". Sunny and Blake on "Slow Mocean".

Join Brian, Jennie, Emma and Alliana Snead for on a journey to explore the out islands of the Bahamas. Sunday, July 5, 2009. 07-05-09 Oriental 4th of July. As it turns out, the parade organizer here was more than accomodating. He put the girls in with The Oriental History Museum group. The girls rode the 1 1/2 mile parade route by themselves (because they are big girls now). Their only request was "Mom and Dad, please get some candy for us.". Miakoda in the News.
