Monday, July 19, 2010. Any idea who will pop out of this cocoon? It spent about an hour yesterday creeping along the deck. I suppose there was something of nutritional value that kept him crawling along. Links to this post. Sunday, April 11, 2010. What really floored me, and warmed my heart, was the Dad and his two preteen sons riding their bikes down the street. One of the sons stopped and asked his Dad if they could watch the sunset. And they did! Links to this post. Thursday, April 8, 2010. The little...

Birdscapes: September 2009

http://birdscapes.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Suet Cakes - The Real McCoy. I put "suet" in quotations because obviously there is no suet in the recipe. True suet cakes would be made with rendered beef suet (fat), but how many of you know of a grocery store that has beef suet in the meat case? I'm thinking, this isn't good, what to do now, when I thought of beef suet. So I asked him if they had any in the back. He says that as they trim the meat, they toss it in the garbage, but he would go back and check. Sur...This is w...

Birdscapes: August 2009

http://birdscapes.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 16, 2009. I was sitting on the patio last week as the sun was starting to set. I saw what I thought was a house finch on the neighbor's fence, but something about it told me it was different. I put the bins on it and realized it was. Different. It sat on the fence and would fly up to catch bugs over and over. Then it flew to the overhead lines and sat there with its mouth wide open . guess the bugs were flying right into its mouth! For the iPhone. I love it! 101 on my life list. So after s...

Birdscapes: April 2009

http://birdscapes.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 27, 2009. I had business out of the office early this afternoon so I thought, what the heck, I'll just take the entire afternoon off and look for it after my meeting. It had been raining off and on all day, but I really wanted to see one to add to my life list so I took a chance. I can't wait to go back on a decent sunny day with my good camera. Thank you, Angel! Links to this post. Saturday, April 25, 2009. Today I saw my first Ruby-throated Hummingbird of the year! Other birds visiting th...

Birdscapes: Brilliant Sunset

http://birdscapes.blogspot.com/2010/04/brilliant-sunset.html

Sunday, April 11, 2010. As I walked out onto my westward facing deck, I saw the most awesome brilliant orange red sunset. I ran in to grab my camera . had to put the lens on . and when I came back it had sunk further down. I wish I had seen it just a few minutes earlier, but I did manage to take this photograph. Unbelievable in this age of video games and kids barely getting outside to play. This Mom and Dad are raising great kids. Nice pic. Boy has this been a HOT summer or what? Birds of St. Louis.

Birdscapes: June 2009

Thursday, June 25, 2009. Coopers Hawk - TOO Up Close. Links to this post. Sunday, June 14, 2009. Apartment Ups and Downs. I've been thinking about apartment life and realized there's not much I will miss. The best I can say is that it was great to have free maintenance on hand. Bathtub clogged with hair? Just call and they will take care of it ASAP. Raccoon nearly busts through your closet ceiling? A small ranch home is sounding better all the time. Links to this post. Monday, June 8, 2009. The birds fou...

2012 - dansat in de nya året. 2012-01-02 @ 01:05:44 Permalink.
