Once again the "Spring" weather was completely uncooperative and the temperatures were quite cold with a biting wind coming from the North. I have no problem spending a few hours waiting around for the nesting Bald Eagles to "do something" but the fact that it's almost April and there was snow (! Welcome to. . . Saturday, March 2, 2013. The real highlight though was a Northern Harrier that was cruising along the road, east of Ponquogue which allowed excellent views and a couple decent shots. The ocean was quite calm and held nothing of note. I ran into some volunteers from the Riverhead Foundation who unfortunately were retrieving a (long) dead Loggerhead Sea Turtle that was likely the victim of cold-stunning in the fall. I mostly film raptors but anything that will stay still for long enough or does something interesting is worthy of a video. To view these videos in High-Def, click the "youtube" icon in the lower right corner of the video and once the larger video has loaded select 720HD on the bottom right (where you see 360).
