Monday, December 10, 2012. Our girl is growing up! Today, Monday, she turned 3! Sometimes I still have a hard time believing I'm the mom of three kids! They grow up so fast and are learning so much that I just can't believe it's real! Stella through this past year. Wow, Stella is stunning! Thank you God for this little girl! Monday, December 3, 2012. He amazes me with his dedication as the team swims together in the early morning. I'm talking like he gets up at 5, is out the door and at the pool at 5...

Nan Goes From Nam to Nash: Chapati
http://karenemcgee.blogspot.com/2012/06/chapati.html
Nan Goes From Nam to Nash. Otherwise known as my journey from America to Africa and back again. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. A brief haiku ode to chapati, my one true African love:. Chapati, you thief. You've stolen my heart and soul. Yum, doughy goodness. Fresh off the hot coals. My tummy bulging with joy. Get in my belly. Back home we don't know. Cheap joys of daily fried dough. We should, don't you think? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" - Jonathan Safran Foer.

Nan Goes From Nam to Nash: Ten Rules for Returning from Your Time in Africa

Nan Goes From Nam to Nash. Otherwise known as my journey from America to Africa and back again. Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Ten Rules for Returning from Your Time in Africa. Rule #1: Do not eat three ice cream cones and one deep dish pizza on your first day back in America, no matter how much you profess to adore milk products. You will experience dairy overload and want to die. Rule #2: Do not be a dummy. Do not wash your face with cold water. The hot water is there for a reason. Use it! Can you come to my ...

Nan Goes From Nam to Nash: Glenview in a Day
http://karenemcgee.blogspot.com/2012/06/glenview-in-day.html
Nan Goes From Nam to Nash. Otherwise known as my journey from America to Africa and back again. Monday, June 11, 2012. Glenview in a Day. A ten hour layover in Chicago afforded me the opportunity to spend a day in my hometown suburb of Glenview, IL. What does one do when one has to cram all the best things of this town into one day? 1 Have tea time with Nanny and talk about the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. 2 Entice your dogs with some tunes on the keys. 3 Eat a whole bowl of M&M's. 9 Lay on the sandy beach.

The Bauman Beat: Friday Foto Fun - Swing!
http://nashvillebaumans.blogspot.com/2013/04/friday-foto-fun-swing.html
Friday, April 5, 2013. Friday Foto Fun - Swing! Last weekend, Shanna's dad and I built a playset for the kids in our backyard. It was a playground kit, so it was nice not having to worry about measuring and cutting to the right specs. There were a number of directions, so it took all day (and I still have a couple items to attach once I get missing pieces from the manufacturer today - slide attachment and rope ladder). Friday, March 22, 2013. Friday Foto Fun - Soccer Has Begun. This March, Aiden has started playing soccer, and I'm his teams coach. The weather has been a little tricky. We've had one normal practice, another where all the practice fields were under water due to rain all morning so we had to find a small corner at the park to practice, and another practice cancelled. Aiden's first soccer game was Saturday, March 16 and the weather was great! Aiden is number 5 in the blue shirt. Saturday, March 2, 2013.

Monday, June 10, 2013. Well, it's been two months since an update, so I guess we've been pretty busy lately. Shanna has been wrapped up in trying to get a Classical Conversations home school tutorial group set up in Nolensville (a town just south of us) that she will be directing and Aiden will participate in. Shanna traveled to Nicaragua the first week of April to visit her sister. The weather has been nice so I've had plenty of mowing, landscaping and gardening to tend to. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, April 27, 2012. Here's some fun with the kids yesterday. Happy Friday everyone! Aiden wanted to go look at the tomatoes we planted earlier in the week. He asked why we couldn't pick them yet. He said when they are green, we can't pick them because they will be yucky. Owen is smiling A LOT, and laughing quite a bit too. His smiles get bigger, and his eyes get smaller. Yes, the picture is upside down, but you get the point. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Where has the time gone? God is so good to us and ...

Nan Goes From Nam to Nash: Thriving
http://karenemcgee.blogspot.com/2012/06/thriving.html
Nan Goes From Nam to Nash. Otherwise known as my journey from America to Africa and back again. Sunday, June 10, 2012. I might even grow accustomed to the storm. Of car horns and vendors. Can there be anywhere else in the world that is such an assault on the senses. Those who know the country though just go about their business. But nothing can prepare the uninitiated for this riot. Of noise and color - the heat, the motion, the perpetual teeming crowds. Initially, you're overwhelmed. How Sweet It Is.
