BitGrid - brilliant, or waste of time??: Reconfigurable Systolic Array

http://bitgrid.blogspot.com/2010/07/reconfigurable-systolic-array.html

BitGrid - brilliant, or waste of time? Wherein Mike Warot describes a novel approach to computing which follows George Gilders call to waste transistors. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. I've been searching, and searching, and searching for anything that matches the Bitgrid in architecture. and I've found nothing. today's Google search is reconfigurable systolic array. I'm not sure if I'm going to be a good fit for the OHPC project. Or not, I've got until August 6 to write a proposal. Learning about chip design.

BitGrid - brilliant, or waste of time? Wherein Mike Warot describes a novel approach to computing which follows George Gilders call to waste transistors. Friday, July 09, 2010. Prior art - non found. and I've got a headache. Every single article I checked trying to find a pure LUT based FPGA had some sort of routing fabric in it. I can't find anything that is close to the bitgrid. I'm going to try to relax, and wait for the Excedrin to kick in. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SimGrid - Up and running.

BitGrid - brilliant, or waste of time? Wherein Mike Warot describes a novel approach to computing which follows George Gilders call to waste transistors. Friday, June 11, 2004. The fine line between Genius and Insanity. I've figured out why nobody has come up with a true bitgrid yet. The idea is insane. Everyone worries themselves sick trying to reduce either transistor count, power consumption, or signal delays. It's just plain nuts. Wednesday, June 09, 2004. Thanks to Wes Felter. I've learned that I've...

Programmer Mike: 06/01/2010 - 07/01/2010

http://programmermike.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Mike takes to heart the adage that ideas are f* *ing worthless. Monday, June 28, 2010. I'm using Delphi 5. something old and comfortable. I'm writing quick and dirty code, and making use of Mercurial source control to allow me to experiment freely. It's quite liberating. I've got no real inertia to overcome at this point except that which I provide myself. It's this type of project that provides the best opportunity for introspection, and I intent to use it. Thursday, June 24, 2010. To support my BitGrid.

Programmer Mike: Using Google code for the first time

http://programmermike.blogspot.com/2010/06/using-google-code-for-first-time.html

Mike takes to heart the adage that ideas are f* *ing worthless. Thursday, June 24, 2010. Using Google code for the first time. I've created a Google Code project - bitgrid-sim. To support my BitGrid. Idea by providing a simulator for people to wrap their heads around. It's really basic, but it gets the job done. I was able to figure out how to get TortoiseHg on my windows boxen to sync with each other, and I've even managed to get everything pushed to the BitGrid-sim mercurial repository at Google.

--Mike--: Hand over your purse or wallet to continue this transaction

http://mikewarot.blogspot.com/2015/01/hand-over-your-purse-or-wallet-to.html

An attempt to push the world in a better direction. Monday, January 05, 2015. Hand over your purse or wallet to continue this transaction. Imagine if you had to surrender your wallet or purse in order to buy a pack of gum at the local store. so the clerk could remove the appropriate amount of money, then hand it back to you at the end of the transaction. When you run a program, browse a web page, open a PDF file, your computer's antivirus attempts to guess if the action is safe. and most of the time ...

An attempt to push the world in a better direction. Sunday, March 16, 2014. Facebook jumps the shark. There are lots of reasons not to like Facebook, but until recently, the network effects of my social graph overcame them. They made it a pain in the ass, but I could sign in, reset the sort order (on a pseudo-random basis it would go to the new "omelette" (or top news) mode). I go there to see what people are doing. how can I ever be "done" if I can't have a rational view of who is doing what? Bill Gates...

http://mikewarot.blogspot.com/2015/01/windows-needs-grenade-sump.html

An attempt to push the world in a better direction. Sunday, January 04, 2015. Windows needs a grenade sump. In warfare, you dig defensive positions to incorporate a grenade sump, so that an inbound grenade can be directed to a place where it will result in minimum harm. There is no equivalent of a grenade sump in Windows. nowhere you can stick a program that you don't trust, then wait and see if it blows up. Sunday, January 04, 2015. --Mike--: On Cyberwar

http://mikewarot.blogspot.com/2015/07/on-cyberwar.html

An attempt to push the world in a better direction. Thursday, July 30, 2015. If your operating system isn't smart enough to require a list of resources to feed a program you want it to run, you lose. If you built your entire civilization on such a stupid foundation, you lose. Anyone smarter than that can wipe you off the face of the earth, unless you can survive long enough to correct your deeply embedded mistake. Thursday, July 30, 2015.
