http://www.bitsandsnips.blogspot.com/2009/01/january-30-2009.html

Friday, January 30, 2009. January 30, 2009. I have spent a lot of time writing what I consider to be some thoughts worth pursueing. However, Thailand being Thailand and lese majestie being in full operation, my words will not be posted here until I am in either Mexico or the US. In the meantime.here's some silly stuff. WHY IS IT THAT? 183; You have to go to Turkey for a great cup of tea, and to Vietnam for a great cup of coffee? 183; Spanish wine is cheaper in Ireland than it is in Spain? 183; The really...

Bits and Snips: Friday January 16, 2009 Welcome

http://www.bitsandsnips.blogspot.com/2009/01/friday-january-16-2009-welcome.html

Thursday, January 15, 2009. Friday January 16, 2009 Welcome. I have experienced many cultures in the last couple of years and have a new awareness of what the world is, and can be. So I'll share some of these insights with anyone who cares to join me in the wanderings of my mind. Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa.and we're off. I wrote this Welcome,. Way back in January 2009. It is now 2016 and my life has changed dramatically! But I like my thought from almost 8 years ago.so will leave it here!

Bits and Snips: January 16, 2009 Cambodian Sweatshops

http://www.bitsandsnips.blogspot.com/2009/01/january-16-2009-cambodian-sweatshops.html

Thursday, January 15, 2009. January 16, 2009 Cambodian Sweatshops. In Cambodia, sweatshops are a dream. Before Barack Obama and his team act on their talk about “labour standards” I’d like to offer them a tour of the vast garbage dump in Phnom Penh. This is a Dante-like vision of hell. It’s a mountain of festering refuse that takes a half hour to hike across while it emits clouds of smoke from subterranean fires. I’m glad that many Americans are repulsed by the idea of importing products made by ba...

Sunday, July 26, 2009. Yesterday we made the hour drive up to Grand Junction, to Joe and Jen's new home! Then we took all the kids to the Dinosaur museum called "Dinosaur Journey". What fun time we all had. It's a great interactive museum for kids, though the adults enjoyed it too! It was a hot, humid day and it was nice to find an indoor activity to do for a few hours! Here are all the kids out in front of the sign! There were many replicas thoughout the museum.these are my two favorite pictures! A Tast...

Monday, September 7, 2009. A Camping the Ryans Will Go! The weekend after the Corn Festival, we all decided to go on a camping weekend together. (Unfortunately, Lori wasn't able to join us that weekend, but we are looking forward to seeing her next weekend when we will go on our last camping trip of the season! We hadn't gone camping with Joe and Jen since Juliana was about a year old and James was three! What could be better? During the daytime, Dusty and Joe took the kids fishing up at the lake and Jen...

Tales from Colorado: A Weekend in the Mountains

http://talesfromcolorado3.blogspot.com/2009/07/weekend-in-mountains.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2009. A Weekend in the Mountains. This last weekend we went camping! We went to one of our favorite places.a campground up above Telluride at a place called Woods Lake! It's amazingly gorgeous up there! At about 9,500 feet above sea level, we were up in the aspen forest! Woods Lake sits in a "bowl" surrounded by high alpine mountains, several above tree-line. The views and scenery are spectacular, and reminds me of why people say Colorado is "God's Country"! I took many pictures of the ...

Tales from Colorado: Recorder Music, Sunsets and Mustaches

http://talesfromcolorado3.blogspot.com/2009/07/recorder-music-sunsets-and-mustaches.html

Sunday, July 19, 2009. Recorder Music, Sunsets and Mustaches. James really enjoys his sessions with the school's music teacher, Mr. Chenivert. He has been able to experience all sorts of wonderful and fun musical things through this man in the last 3 years. Then this June, when James found out that Mr. Chenivert was teaching the recorder as part of the summer camp, he was THERE! James has learned quickly and well, practicing often at home. And here he is playing "When the Saints Come Marching In"! We wer...

Tales from Colorado: August 2008

http://talesfromcolorado3.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 24, 2008. Random Pictures from our weekend. Yesterday we drove up to the quaint mountain town of Ouray to enjoy their hot springs pool. We try to go up there a couple of times a year and always have a great time! How can you not when you're soaking in the wonderfully warm hot spring water, surrounded by this mountain beauty? Dusty and James enjoyed playing in the water. We always talk about going up in the winter to experience the hot springs in the snow! What can I say about this picture?

Tales from Colorado: October 2008

http://talesfromcolorado3.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 27, 2008. Photo Challenge #22 S.O.O.C. (Straight out of the Camera). I was hopeful that our trip to the pumpkin patch would result in several good pictures to choose from for this week's challenge. The weather was beautiful.clear and sunny! My entry of the pumpkins is the best of the pick without editing! I like the contrast between the blue of the sky, the orange of the pumpkins and the brown and texture of the dirt and vines. Thanks for a fun challenge, Wendy! It's Pumpkin Patch Time!
