Camels were tamed around 1200 B.C., it became possible to cross the desert of Arabia, Petra area started gaining importance as a meeting point for trade routs.

After a long time of having a cube to represent gods, the Nabataeans have added some elements to it, square eyes and a nose. Inside Petra you can see many of the rectangular shaped gods they used to call Kabo meaning a cube. In pre-muslim Arab religions a block of stone not touched with a chisel was used to mark the places of concentrated divine presence. They used to visit, pray and give offerings to the gods at these places. A couple are in the archaeological museum in Amman.
