Quilting, Farming, Variety. Monday, July 13, 2015. We're having temperatures in the upper 90s these days, so an afternoon in the water is a good way for a young lady to cool down. Since I'm a country girl, I go swimming in the creek instead of a pool. I have a new swimsuit,. And because the water is so fresh and cold, my teeth begin to chatter, and I have to come out to warm up now and then, wrapping up in my terry cloth swimsuit cover-up. July 13, 2015 at 5:08 PM. It is sure mighty hot here too. Now isn...

EMZ-Piney Post: September 2014
http://emz-pineypost.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Quilting, Farming, Variety. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Did you give up on me? It was very close, but finally finished on the last day of September! So much has been going on here the past month: big chickens (which went out last week), more hay to bale and haul, garden harvest of tomatoes and peas, all of which I'm very thankful! So I grabbed every spare minute to work on a crazy quilt. Therefore I simply quilted along each seam line, except in the solid red, where I did a melon-shaped pattern. Perhaps...

http://emz-pineypost.blogspot.com/2015/06/as-winter-project-i-took-this-pattern.html
Quilting, Farming, Variety. Monday, June 1, 2015. As a winter project, I took this pattern. And embroidered nine blocks for a baby quilt. Since there wasn't much chance to use a lot of different thread colors, the blocks seemed a little drab to me. So I let them sit while I thought about how to set them together into a top. Last week I decided to border each block with 1 1/2 inch strips of pastel colored fabrics and this is the result:. June 1, 2015 at 4:07 PM. Border. You creative beautiful things!

EMZ-Piney Post: August 2014
http://emz-pineypost.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Quilting, Farming, Variety. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. August Hope Chest Addition. When I started this project, I was sure it would take me until winter to finish it, but once I got started with a few stitches now and then, it went rather quickly. I chose to make a pair of embroidered pillowcases:. The pattern was very old and I was almost certain it wouldn't transfer two times, so I cut around it and took it to the copy machine for a pattern I could use to transfer to tracing paper. What do you think?

EMZ-Piney Post: April 2015
http://emz-pineypost.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Quilting, Farming, Variety. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. The first thing I made for Isabelle was a pair of springtime pajamas. The weather is still a bit cool here at night, so the long sleeves and long pants are just right. The pajamas are made from a lightweight, pale lavender, crinkled fabric. The top fits perfectly but the pants need to be a little larger. Notice she's still wearing her boots! Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Comes from the fact that it's the Pineapple block made from scraps. I have pieced 88 o...

Quilting, Farming, Variety. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. My latest string quilt top is finished and put away to be quilted later, maybe next winter. Each individual block is not very interesting by itself, but I really like the effect of using dark and light strings to make this pattern. This would be a nice quilt for a boy's bed or a dorm quilt. Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Standing the Test of Time part 2. Please read the previous post first). Daughter one, "I love that tree! Birds, "Oh no! I have no way of ...
