31 Seconds: Marathon Training - Weeks 8 to 12 (plus half-marathon and Rathfarnham 5k reports)
http://darrenleamy.blogspot.com/2010/09/marathon-training-weeks-8-to-12-plus.html
Marathon Training - Weeks 8 to 12 (plus half-marathon and Rathfarnham 5k reports). I'll say it out straight:. My marathon training went to shite. Week 9 I was in Argentina. Eating many fine steaks and drinking much red wine and beer. This counts as negative training. I began Week 11 with the slight injury below my left knee. Not wanting to make it worse with the half marathon coming up on the Saturday, I decided to let it rest. And that brings me on to the half marathon! Crossing the finish line. Me and ...

Marathon Training - Week 7 (plus 10 mile race report). So I rested the foot for the days leading up to the race and come Saturday morning, my foot was feeling perfect - not even a niggle of pain. That didn't last though, which I'll get to. Curse him. The slope passed, it was just a case of putting one foot in front of the other for 3 miles - the most difficult 3 miles I've ever jogged. Saturday: 10 mile race. Saturday: 10 mile race. Golden week failed. Oh well. 10 mile race tomorrow. eek. I'm really look...

Isn't this all very exciting. I'm only about 10 years behind the explosion of blogs. So I guess it'll be another 9 years until I start using Twitter. I started this blog because I like to keep track of cool things I come across online and share some of it with others. I usually do that with Facebook, but then some of the things I feel like sharing, are only actually interesting to about 4 people and I don't want to annoy everyone. Most of my blog posts will be related to, in no particular order:.

Ever get so annoyed at your brother you just want to stab him? More video game-related acts of extreme violence! This kind of thing happened, a Chinese teenager was stabbed in the head after being accused of cheating in a game of Counter Strike. It appears that this time, however, we have a very simple case of sibling rivalry. Where one sibling stabbed another in the chest with a kitchen knife. According to a BBC report. The youth said to the police that "things got out of control". This is a very cool a...

Translation Party - Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I've messed around with Translation Party a few times, but I wanted to try something a bit different. So here, for your enjoyment, is the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. According to Translation Party:. But now back in, shut down all of my life, how can. My prince, I can go sit in my town atmosphere. Pureiguraundofiraderufia I spent most of the day raising of the West. I must be close to a good start man. 3 - In west Philadelphia, born and raised, o...

This is just a few gaming-related announcements. Has a new beta UI. Available. Open Steam, go to 'Settings' and there's a drop-down menu where you can opt-in to the new UI. It's pretty sweet and I really like it. It gives you gameplay stats with the Shift Tab menu in-game and the look is just so much nicer. Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has announced that there absolutely, definitely will not be any Nazis or zombies in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 DLC ( link. Comes out later this year! Finally, if you ...

http://darrenleamy.blogspot.com/2010/08/marathon-training-week-5.html
Marathon Training - Week 5. I was so close to my golden week. So very, very close. It was going great all week. I even bought new running gear on Saturday (pic to follow in a later post) but plans for the run on Sunday went to crap when I had to go to Dublin unexpectedly for the evening. Monday: 5.24 miles (o.o). 524 miles (o o). 524 miles (0 0). 524 miles (O O). Friday: rest ( . ). Saturday: 4.5 miles (o.o). Sunday: nothing (- -). Total: 25.46 miles. Really though, they make a difference. Plus, at o...

31 Seconds: Marathon Training - Week 4
http://darrenleamy.blogspot.com/2010/08/marathon-training-week-4.html
Marathon Training - Week 4. Dammit. I really didn't do well this week. I'll start off with what I should have done and what I actually did. Tuesday: 4 miles (easy fartlek). Monday: 3.7 miles. Tuesday: 5.2 miles. Thursday: 4.5 miles. Sunday: not a bit. Total: 13.4 miles. This is terrible. I only jogged half the distance I should have. I'm meant to be in marathon training but I'm letting other things get in the way. I'm making excuses for myself and ignoring the training plan. Not good. Awesome Inc. te...
