It is a Kenyan tradition to take tea twice a day- once at 10:00 am and again around 4:00 p.m. The teachers at Hekima are convinced that "chai" rejuvenates the minds of their students so that they study better, so "wakati wa chai" (tea time) is incorporated into every class. For us, it is a time to fellowship and a chance to use our Swahili. I love watching the delight on the faces of these Kenyans. When my three-year-old speaks their language!
