Thats pretty much it, with some practice you can pretty much have your own studio at home, the bigger the su...

Saturday, May 31, 2008. Photography: Watch out for this. A DSLR is a very expensive peace of equipment, and if you dont have the money to be getting a new one each month so to speak, you have to take into account several things that will make your camera last longer! I have listed a few below that you should take into account when handling your camera. 1 Dropping your camera and bumping it. If you don't you might end up with something like this:. This will ruin your camera really fast, so watch out where...

http://blackerphotography.blogspot.com/2008/10/photography-shooting-into-sun.html

Monday, October 27, 2008. Photography: Shooting into the Sun. Orginal post by dps blog. Here are eleven quick and simple tips at combating the problems that bright sunlight might bring when shooting outdoors:. 1 Move into the shade. With some subjects you’ll be able to move them (and yourself) into the shade. This is particularly relevant with portraits where your subject is highly portable. Sometimes the simplest solutions are best. 2 Make your own shade. 4 Use a Reflector. 5 Change Your Perspective.

Saturday, 20 September 2008. Constructive tutorial (3) - Palakaboy. For today's entry, I've been kind enough to have been lent an image by Cameralabs Forum member, Palakaboy. It is another portrait, but unlike the one in the first tutorial we have a different set of issues. Here is his image:. The final part is to make the subjects look good in the light. Green casting can be removed by using coloured filters, selective colour, colour balance and curves. All four methods are shown in the video. Wednesday...

Recent conversations have brought up the subject of today's entry: what we used to do in the days of film to judge exposures. The rule was known as the "Sunny 16 rule", and is as follows:. F/16 for a sunny day. F/4 for a setting sun. Even on a digital body that can account for the exposure, knowing the equivalent for manual exposures will help on the technical side of photography.

Journeys into Photography: June 2008

http://journeysintophotography.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 25 June 2008. Brief intro into Photojournalism. I guess you've gathered that this blog really doesn't have much structure (after all I've written part 2 of flash work, and still haven't created images to illustrate part 1 yet, which is why it isn't out). This of course adds to the pressure on delivering image...

Sunday, 31 August 2008. Running out of juice. Have you ever been in a situation where you're limited by the shortage of power in your camera? I know my answer - yes. But other than checking, there are ways to reduce the likelihood of such downtime. Carrying a spare battery is one method. But make sure that that's charged too!
