Phoenix daydreams: What learning looks like...
http://phoenixdaydreams.blogspot.com/2014/03/what-learning-looks-like.html
Sunday, 16 March 2014. What learning looks like. Our week also invariably involves a lot of bike riding. Again, we're lucky that we live somewhere that means we can just grab the bikes and go. Learning to ride confidently - over-confidently, sometimes! I didn't take pictures of the tantrums and bickering that are also a part of our week - they never feel particularly educational at the time, although I'm sure they are! Friday, 30 March 2012. Swings, ice cream and picnics. enjoying the sunshine! And hoping it holds for our first camping trip of the year - I hope it isn't too cold at night! And also hope we can get diesel to get home as the country has once again bought straight into the eco/financial disaster that is our fuel system by.oh yes, buying more fuel than ever. Gosh, that'll show them they can't monopolise our spending and dictate what we 'need' and when we 'need' it. Glad we got that straight. These arrived i...

Monday, 14 November 2011. And also very pleased that our biggest girl is so very sensible and calmly took the others outside while I sorted out the situation. So today, the children have mostly been rowing around the lounge in their boat:. Autumn is my favourite season :-) xx. Wednesday, 2 November 2011. A place that fits. http://phoenixdaydreams.blogspot.com/2012/10/all-change.html
Monday, 1 October 2012. Wow, what a rollercoaster the last few weeks have been! He's not of 'statutory school age' until next year (a fact that isn't often mentioned to parents of reception children! So we're not official home-edders, but our week is becoming a lovely mixture of two mornings at Forest School, a drop-in home ed social group, our local toddler group (which I help run so he helps me! In other news, I've decided to train as a childminder and start my training next month but in the meantime, ...

Monday, 27 February 2012. Thank you for the music. We duly hired one, and she's loving it. We're very fortunate that my sister teaches flute so she's giving her lessons when we see her (about once a fortnight) and I'm helping her out with practising. It's such a lovely instrument, I'm tempted to learn too! In a flash of inspiration, she searched for an Adele song and is now learning to play 'Someone Like You' beautifully. It's so much more motivating playing something like that than 'three blind mice!

Phoenix daydreams: June 2012
http://phoenixdaydreams.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 2 June 2012. Higgledy piggledy or organised? We lost our cucumbers early on in the cold, so replaced them with one from the market which is looking lovely. Our garden is very well designed and landscaped, it's lovely and fairly low maintenance (luckily! I like the difference though - the neat little rows of salads look really satisfying, but vegetables appearing in unexpected spots is really exciting and I can't decide which I prefer! The pond, though, is seriously higgledy-piggledy! And thinki...

Phoenix daydreams: A birthday girl!
http://phoenixdaydreams.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-birthday-girl.html
Wednesday, 17 October 2012. Well, the last two years have seemed a bit of a blur to me! My baby girl is two already, I just can't believe it! However, I now know what a placket is (that bit the buttons are sewn onto - who knew? And I have mastered buttonholes. Only because my machine is much better than I give it credit for - I need to develop my patience! The animals got a bit battered when we carried the cake around the nature reserve, but it was worth it :-). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm ma...

Still beavering away on the gift makes, so many done, yet still more to do. This is the cowl I'm working on for middle big girl, to match with the mitts and hat previously shown. I'm making it up as I go so hoping it will be ok:. Off for a quick look at what you're all working on before it's back to the cowl again. And thank you for your comments last week, about rep...

Phoenix daydreams: February 2014
http://phoenixdaydreams.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 February 2014. I haven't blogged here in a very long time but I've been drawn back, feeling the need to connect again with writing about our lives and sharing in the journeys of other bloggers. So, here we are:. This was a very wet and windy walk at Haytor, where we managed to spend approximately 1.5 minutes out of the car! Our arrival coincided with a terrible hailstorm and Haytor is never the easiest place to be even in a light wind! And here's why I'm so keen to start blogging here again:.
