Iron & Honor. Cloak & Coin. January 23, 2015. In Iron & Honor, traits help refine the character’s role on the battlefield. They can be advantages (or disadvantages), descriptive qualities, or special abilities. Sometimes, this is simply a matter of reflecting aspects of the physical miniature. For example, a particularly bulky model may be given the large trait; a dragon may be given flight. […]. January 8, 2015. Cloak & Coin Icons. January 3, 2015. December 23, 2014. Duke of the Blood Keep: Helping Hand Challenge – Part 1
http://dukeofthebloodkeep.blogspot.com/2014/06/helping-hand-challenge-part-1.html
Duke of the Blood Keep. My Hobby Blog - Updates Every Monday. Monday, 30 June 2014. Helping Hand Challenge – Part 1. 8220;Last one out, shut the door”. So, the first part of the helping hand challenge. First up on the list of minis to paint was the porter. The end result was a little darker than planned but I’m still pretty happy with it. His clothing was kept deliberately muted, the only splash of colour was his blue grey booties. Overall I’m very happy with finished mini, the challenge really hel...

Duke of the Blood Keep. My Hobby Blog - Updates Every Monday. Thursday, 2 April 2015. Hey guys, not done a workbench update in a while, thought I'd share some of the projects I've been working on over the last two weeks. First up, how I learnt to despise painting wood grain. It started off innocently enough with these benches from Sarissa Precision. But then things got silly. Oh and this is the size of the package that arrived. 4 April 2015 at 04:36. Duke of the Blood Keep: Painting Otherworld Slugs
http://dukeofthebloodkeep.blogspot.com/2012/08/painting-otherworld-slugs.html
Duke of the Blood Keep. My Hobby Blog - Updates Every Monday. Monday, 6 August 2012. So this month I’m going to show you how I painted my Giant Slug from Otherworld. This guy is a hugely impressive mini, weighing in at 170mm long. I actually had no intention of ever picking one up, but when Richard offered me a damaged copy for just £5, well how could I resist? Of course, subsequently mounting him on a £12 base increased the price a little! So I started out by priming the mini with Khemri Brown. This pro...

Duke of the Blood Keep: Painting Bandages
http://dukeofthebloodkeep.blogspot.com/2012/07/painting-bandages.html
Duke of the Blood Keep. My Hobby Blog - Updates Every Monday. Tuesday, 10 July 2012. This week’s tutorial is going to short and sweet but can be applied to many models of all types. Bandages and wrappings can be found on all kinds of models and I have a simple but effective way of painting them. In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating on a mummy, but the technique is universal and works in different colours too. Doing this will help your areas standout later on and add definition to the finished mini.
