Cinema by the Sea. Looe’s old cinemas. Old cinemas in Looe. Originally known as The Cinema and operating from at least 1925, this cinema operated on the ground floor of the Town Hall, it was later renamed the Little Cinema. The cinema could seat just 178 and as operated by Leon Lennard. By WWII Mr Edwin Pearn of the Regent had taken over. Cinema by the Sea. Looe’s old cinemas. Tickets are available at the door on the night, online at Cornish Riviera Box Office. Or from Looe Tourist Information Centre, The Guild Hall, Fore St, East Looe. There is a 50pence charge for booking tickets online. All films are shown subject to availability. Seats are unreserved and allocated on a first come first seated basis. We regret we cannot refund tickets unless a show is cancelled. Tickets are not transferable and may not be sold for commercial gain.

Cinema by the Sea. Looe’s old cinemas. You dont need to be a member to see a film with us, but you can save 2.50 each time you see a film or event screening by joining Looe Film Society. Annual Membership runs from 1 October to 30 September and costs just 13 ( 8 if you join between March and September). Joining is easy. Simply download an application form. Print it out, fill it in and bring it along with your payment (cash or cheques) to a film show; or fill in an application form at our admissions desk.

Cinema by the Sea. Looe’s old cinemas. Cinema by the Sea Map. Use the map below to find our venue – The Community Hall at Looe Children’s Centre, Trewint Crescent, Barbican, LOOE. PL13 1ET. Looe Children’s Centre is located on the corner of Trewint Crescent and Pendennis Road, just around the corner from the Barbican Inn pub. Both the pub and the Childrens Centre are signposted from the B3253 Plymouth to Looe road. There is a small car park attached to the Centre, and plenty of nearby street parking.
