Livin La Vida Loja: February 2010
http://oblasinecuador.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 20, 2010. So,we dumped our bags in the tidy rooms, washed down some yummy homemade cookies with fresh squeezed lemonade and went for a refreshing swim in the Arajuno river. Perhaps you are imagining crocodiles, alligators or piranahas lurking about in the jungle river. Maybe true at one point in time, but much damage has been done in the Amazon rainforest - such as habitat loss and deforestation. One of the tree frogs spotted on our night walk. To make the most out of our vacation, we ...

From there ensued several days of readjusting to home including unpacking, tracking down furniture, starting our internet, getting the cars running and road legal etc. Everything went very smooth and we hardly hit a hiccup except for the sticker shock everywhere we went. We heard ourselves repeating, "can you believe what this costs! Our local Farmer's Market.

Each barrio (neighborhood) had its own parties which included soccer matches in the street, Ecua-volley tournaments, and live music at night with dancing in the street. Saturday, November 14, 2009. Futbol in the streets. Our neighborhood, I forget what its called, had the opportunity to host events last weekend&#...

Sunday, July 4, 2010. Livin La Vida Loja: October 2009
http://oblasinecuador.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 24, 2009. As we mentioned before, hot showers are a rarity here. We still aren't sure whether this is due to a lack of resources or a lack of will. We do know that most Ecuadorians take pride in not caring about hot showers and telling stories about how cold the showers were when they were kids.
