Karen and Anthony in OZ. Adventures and misadventures down under. Week 3 – koalas cause me anguish! February 27, 2010 in Uncategorized. Today we were in town, and we both saw a tabloid advertisement: “Koalas responsible for stalled development”. Really, can you believe it? Koalas, which were once plentiful throughout this area, have become extremely rare, and now those few that are left are prohibiting economic development and the spread of housing sprawl. Those darn protected bears! House #2 - save me!

Matt Connolly's Blog. My brain dumps here…. A year with ZeroMQ Ruby. On 28 April, 2014. It was a year ago since my first commit. A Ruby bindings gem for ZeroMQ. Which wraps the higher level CZMQ. I don’t recall exactly how I first heard about ZeroMQ, but needless to say, I got interested and started reading up on it. At the time, I discovered there were three gems for using ZeroMQ in ruby:. 8211; a binding using FFI, which is compatible with Ruby, Rubinius and JRuby. Gem since it was so old. The. And to ...

Tales of Transition to a Life Post-Carbon. Sunday, July 5, 2009. This post is dedicated to one of our friends who truly inspires us. Emma Scragg, a local green architect, with a passion for cycle touring, speaking Spanish and dancing Tango. This talented (and over achieving) gal is hard to keep up with. Her latest adventure sees her cycling from Alaska to the Golden Gate bridge in San Fransisco, around 4,500km in total, and something we just can't fathom! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Roseypekin Adventures: April 2010
http://roseypekin.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tales of Transition to a Life Post-Carbon. Tuesday, April 13, 2010. One big happy, formidable family. It seems the neocons are beginning to feel the threat of their demise, and John Birmingham nails it on the head with this fantastic piece on his blog. It's an interesting observation of human ego and its relationship to power when things just aren't going their way. It seems they will stop at nothing to defend their turf. To me, it all points so positively to the ' Great Turning. Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

Roseypekin Adventures: No time to relax
http://roseypekin.blogspot.com/2010/10/no-time-to-relax.html
Tales of Transition to a Life Post-Carbon. Sunday, October 31, 2010. No time to relax. The election euphoria has settled into a semi-distant memory, and life has taken on some normalcy once again. Many great things are going to come from this 'balanced' federal parliament, even more so when the new Senate is formed in July next year. Yet, everyday I'm still confronted with increasing evidence that this 'progress' is not enough. A couple of weeks ago, I read George Monbiot's. He says we must lead with str...

Roseypekin Adventures: The Swing is Green in Griffith!
http://roseypekin.blogspot.com/2010/08/swing-is-green-in-griffith.html
Tales of Transition to a Life Post-Carbon. Sunday, August 22, 2010. The Swing is Green in Griffith! Well, what a day! Thank you to the people of Griffith for your belief in Greens policies and in the wonderful people who make it such a great political party. Here in Griffith, we nearly doubled 2007 numbers with nearly 10,000 votes, or 15.24% of the vote, and a whopping 7.4% swing towards us! The ALP suffered a 9.11% vote against them, so it seems Rudd didn't get that sympathy vote after all. With the Aus...
