the weisenblog: We're back!
http://dalyandreese.blogspot.com/2013/12/were-back.html
December 27, 2013. I would like to contend that, while a lovely sentiment, this is not always the case. Sometimes comparison brings lots of joy. Allow me to make my case. And to digress for a moment or two…. Parenting Rule #247: Never compare your children to each other. They are uniquely beautiful little creatures. Got it. There are times, however, when comparisons are fun. Top row: Daly and Jack, day one in the hospital. Bottom row: Jack and Reese, week one, laying in my lap in my mom's backyard.

July 30, 2011. UghI miss those giggles and that big, sunny smile. Love you Reesie! July 29, 2011. This morning I said to Daly, 'Come here, baby girl.'. Moooom, I'm not a baby! I've been dreading that comment for three years and four months. I'm sure this was just last week. This was our first anniversary. Daly was 5 days old. July 28, 2011. Here's my mom taking video with her iPhone, while Reese is Skyping with Daly and me {we were sharing some potato chips}. That dinging sound in the background? This no...

November 11, 2011. Messy hair.wrinkled pjs.watching the ducks waddle by.no idea I'm watching you. I love you, baby girl. Ryan found a new Christmas album {on Jack Johnson's label, Brushfire Records} called This Warm December. Click the link to listen to the whole album, but our favorite is Jack's song, 'In the Morning'. I swear he's singing to Reesie:. Your crazy curly morning hair, your maka piapia stare, {it means 'eye boogies' in Hawaiian}. Smiling down from the top of the stairs, you're so sweet.

http://dalyandreese.blogspot.com/2012/05/our-journey.html
May 27, 2012. Leaving Ryan and the girls was rough. I thought I had it all under control at the airport. Big hugs and kisses and barely a tear from me as I waved goodbye and walked out to the plane. Feeling pretty proud of myself for not breaking down, I turned around one last time to wave from the top of the stairs. Knowing one tissue just wouldn't do, the flight attendant brought me the box. And I listened. No more tears. And the sunrise was stunning. Oh, and pick up some snacks. Vietnam's Hanoi airpor...

December 17, 2010. So I realize not everyone. Who checks the blog has Facebook. The network has become so widespread that when I post pictures of 'Reese-ent' events to my FB account, I often forget to also put them on the blog.assuming everyone is all caught up. What I'm trying to say is.my apologies to you non-Facebook users! Here are some of our favorite photos from the Christmas season. Not so helpful for putting the girls to bed, but it's really cool to have so much sunlight during the day! This year...

October 31, 2011. My first costume inspiration for Reese came months ago from Pinterest. I instantly fell in love with this photo, this little girl, her mini-swagger, and this outfit. With all the cute tutus I'd seen floating around, I was itching to make one or two or nine for the girls. I found this. And was on a mission. Next it was Daly's turn. I thought blonde, fun, beautiful, dresses, high heels.Marilyn. Finally wanting to show off her dress. 'Look me, Gramma! Talking to my mom and Heather on skype.

September 30, 2011. A lesson on spider webs. Daly is outside helping Ryan with the yard work. Spiders have butts. And strings come out of them. So they can hang from trees.'. Dressed appropriately for the job. Before a quick refresher on how to hold 'siffy-scissors'. Daly sticks our her tongue when she's concentrating.just like Dad. The sweat pants, jeans, and t shirts hanging from the line. Reese was yelling at the top of her little lungs, 'AHHHH! September 29, 2011. In on the fun:. Down in the Square, ...

April 24, 2011. I'll remember April and smile'. Before the Jets' season started, the organization got out in The Square. For some fun with the kids and families of Palmerston North. Sausage sizzle, face painting, bounce houses, relay races and carnival games in the sun. We had a great time. More than anything, it was really wonderful to see the players and coaches having a blast with the local kids.such a huge part of being role models in a small community. Daly learning how to run the cones with Stacey.

June 15, 2010. It all started with a friendly facebook message from Gareth.something along the lines of, 'We've got snow about a 30 minute walk away. Road trip? Sounded great, so we packed up and headed to The Highwayman Mote. In Masterton to meet up with the Teahans. Gareth packed his dogs in the van and lead us to the base of Mt. Holdsworth. Our fun and leisurely, 30 minute walk started with lots of layers. And turned into a two hour, fairly strenuous hike, with fewer jackets. June 12, 2010. After a to...
