Så vidt som det nu engang lader sig gøre ud fra beskrivelsen i den royale håndbog Manasollasa. Fra første halvdel af det 12. århundrede. Spillet er vigtigt for min forskning fordi det kombinerer prototypiske træk fra de senere spil c. Spilmekanisk minder det om chaupar. Mens det indholdsmæssigt minder om gyan chaupar. To fattige gamle mænd spillede det i ruinerne af et delvist sammenstyrtet tempel på Durbar Square i Bhaktapur. De talte udelukkende newari og Prakash havde svært ved at tolke hvad de sagde. Bortset fra at de ville have penge af den hvide mand der betragtede dem. Spillets navn giver ikke umiddelbart nogen mening. Kasa. Betyder “spil” på newari og mala. I mellemøsten og tablan.

Det var her den unge digterhelgen Jnaneshwar mediterede sig til døde engang i slutningen af det 13. århundrede. Personligt er jeg dog mere interesseret i den tradition der tilskriver ham opfindelsen af.
