Updates on my art activity. 11 August, 2012. The wood used for the green print is taken from the top of a side table that had been in the house. The square cut-outs are where the legs were joined to the main body of the table. This table obviously had a good long life and no doubt could tell us some interesting stories! Updates on my art activity. 21 November, 2012. Ironically, the initial inspiration is from Hawaii (Hibiscus kahili tree, Plants of Hawaii. Detail, early proof with hand-painted leaves. The block was imprinted with wire mesh to create the grid in the background. Detail, woodblock in-progess (plywood, hand-carved). This work was also influenced by Japanese snow scenes.
