Alaskan Hughes': Liz's friend
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2012/04/lizs-friend.html
Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Iris came to visit for a week last year while her mom worked for the village. Her and Liz became good friends. So when we heard she was coming back again this year Liz was very excited. The girls get along great and had a wonderful week together. Her mother also brought us all kinds of fresh produce from Anchorage and we enjoyed fresh green and fruit salads with them every evening! Stewart and Carrie Hughes Family. Alaskan Hughes': June 2011
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 3, 2011. Field trip to Old Kasaan. I was in the "big boat" with the little kids and girls. The boat was not made to restrain students as much as I had pictured when we planned the trip. It had two seats, so most of us sat in the bottom of the boat. Here is a picture of my view as we went, there wasn't much holding us in. What you don't see is that as the boat speeds up it tips. I was nervous, but we all survived and nobody fell in. Stewart and Carrie Hughes Family. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Alaskan Hughes': Ode to Becky and James and Family
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2012/01/ode-to-becky-and-james-and-family.html
Sunday, January 15, 2012. Ode to Becky and James and Family. OK, so this post really isn't to meant to just praise James and Becky, but as I was out enjoying the beautiful snowy day with Sammie yesterday I was thinking about how nice this winter has been with them here. First of all we all enjoyed (or endured) middle school basketball together. This is Oaklee and Sammie decked out in Black and Gold to cheer for their team. Somewhere in the middle of basketball season, we enjoyed Thanksgiving together....

Alaskan Hughes': April 2012
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Becky and James brought their family to Kasaan for Conference weekend. We love any chance to get together. The kids really wanted it to be spring and enjoyed a picnic Saturday afternoon. I did not think it was spring yet. And that is why this is a terrible picture taken from my kitchen window instead of being outside with the kids. The kids spent a lot of time during the weekend painting shells. I meant to get pictures but I didn't. Trust me, they were very cute! Sister Westfall h...

Alaskan Hughes': May 2011
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 23, 2011. Josh's baptism and a Halibut. This Sunday was Joshua's 8th birthday. He was baptized at the church right after church. He was very excited and everything went well. We got 10 pounds of meat off of it. Not big for a halibut, but perfect size if your going for quality meat. Then all the kids had to get in the boat while Stewart took it from the dock to shore to load it back on the trailer. It was such a beautiful evening that I had to get a picture. Alaskan Hughes': December 2010
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 20, 2010. Dear Friends and Family, 12/13/2010. This year we moved again for the 7. Time in our 11-year marriage, 2. Time in 2 years. But don’t get me wrong; I actually love the new adventure that comes with each new location. We are now in a beautiful and tiny little Haida village called Kasaan. We have thoroughly enjoyed the visitors that we’ve had here so far and are looking forward to more when the salmon return this summer. Liz is 9. She is a great friend with each of her sibling...

Alaskan Hughes': Beach combing with Westfalls
http://alaskanhughes.blogspot.com/2012/04/beach-combing-with-westfalls.html
Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Beach combing with Westfalls. Sister Westfall has a very extensive shell collection, but she mentioned that she wanted moon shells. Stewart happened to know where she could find some, so we planned a day to go beach combing. The weather even cooperated! It was a little chilly, but not to windy or rainy. :) Here's the crew arriving on the beach. See the heron standing in the water? Sammie had to pose for a picture on this rock that was completely surrounded by sea stars. Stewart an...

Alaskan Hughes': April 2011

Monday, April 11, 2011. Archery and Elementary Basketball. The kids have been busy lately. They had the state archery competition last month. Archery is a really hard sport to get good pictures of. But the kids did great! Then they got to go outside to play. She really loved that! She plays outside at our school, but kids her age and a different playground were both very fun. He's looking forward to middle school sports next year. Stewart and Carrie Hughes Family. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 2010 - Scout...
