Blatherskite Park came into existence in 1977 and its operation is managed by an honorary group of Trustees appointed by the Minister. The grounds were developed initially for equestrian purposes and a large area is still devoted to this use. In addition the Park has also widened its scope to include a diversity of functions for the whole community. Blatherskite Park, Alice's Spring's largest and most versatile indoor and outdoor venue is the place to hold your next trade show, sporting event, lifestyle expo, concert or community fundraiser. For more than 50 years, the grounds have been home to the annual Alice Spring Show, as well as the world-famous Red CentreNATS. It is one of Alice Spring's only facilities to boast grandstand seating up to 400 patrons, stables, agistment facilities, spacious pavilions, sporting oval, function and board rooms.
