Mary Ann Darrough Owen, wife of John Cameron Owen

Mary Ann Darrough Owen. Possable spelling of "Dorrough"). 1843-1893 (50 at Death). Her father, Daniel and mother Ann were both born in Ohio. She married John Cameron Owen. 1862 by the Justice of the Peace, Thomas Patterson in Greene County, Indiana. She mothered the six children of J.C. Owen. In 1865 they move to Macon. 1893 at 7:10 PM at the age of 50 years, 6 months and 6 days, Mary Ann died of Typhoid Fever in their home at 957 South Colfax Street, in Macon. She was buried November 1.

1786-1861 (75 at Death). Evan Owen had come to Greene County, Indiana, from Surry County, North Caroliana. Around 1814 to the town of Paoli, in Orange Co. IN with his brothers. In 1817 they moved on to Greene Co Indiana. He married Priscilla Sanders. Indiana in 1819. They had 12 children. John Cameron. Was there youngest child. Evan died 1861 in Highland Township and was buried in the Bland/Owen cemetery there. Mother: Margert HUNTER Owen. Possable Pairents could also be a Ephraim and Sarah Owen.

He was the youngest of 12 children born to them. Evan and Pricilla had come to Greene County, from North Carolina. Around 1817. Pricilla came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders, and Evan came with his father and brothers. They were married in Greene County in 1819. JC Owen, as he was known, married Mary Ann Darrough Owen.
