Monday, April 19, 2010. On our way . . . Well, its Monday and were sitting in DC waiting for our flight that is now delayed an hour and a half.lets hope this is not a sign of what is to come! Arusuvai Unavu

An array of southern spices. Besan(Bengal Gram Flour) : 1 cup. Sugar : 1.5 cups. Ghee : 1 cup. Water : 1/4 cup. 1 Heat 3-4 tablespoons oil and mix with the besan in a bowl. 2 Seive the flour to avoid lumps. 3 Heat Ghee on a stove and simultaneously melt sugar with the water in another skillet. 4 When the sugar syrup comes to a string consistency, add the flour to it, constantly stirring the syrup. 5 Keep stirring without any lumps in the flour. 9 Let it settle and cool for 10 mins. Rava(sooji) - 1 cup.
