Hypernom – a 4D VR Game. Is a 4D VR game that I’ve been working on with Vi Hart, Henry Segerman, and Marc ten Bosch. We’ve already talked about it on the eleVR blog. You can see the code on Github. Read about the math behind the game in our paper. And see our presentation about it at Bridges 2015. So I thought I would try something a bit different in my blog post…. In which I explain our new game using only the ten hundred most used words. Go try it out now! This entry was posted in Life. August 7, 2015.

Food | Andrea Hawksley

How would one make mathematical cuisine? Not just food that looks mathematical ( like. But something that you truly have to eat and taste in order to experience its mathematical nature. A masterpiece of mathematical art, the answer I came up with is simple enough that anyone can make it at home, surprisingly visually beautiful, delicious…. Decorative Knots | Andrea Hawksley

http://blog.andreahawksley.com/decorative-knots

Tells us that “A knot is a method for fastening or securing linear material such as rope by tying or interweaving.” Although I know a number of practical knots, the decorative ones tend to be more complicated and attractive. Here are a few knots that I am particularly fond and/or proud of. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *. Eight − 6 =.

Origami | Andrea Hawksley

http://blog.andreahawksley.com/origami

This page is contains a gallery of my origami. Work from roughly 2004 through 2008. More recent work is posted on my blog under the origami tag. As it is folded (give or take some laziness delay). I designed and folded these designs. Good origami design requires both good design skill and good folding skill. Brian Chan. Demonstrates this here by folding one of my designs (a bunny) better than I’ve ever managed to. But I like to think that I helped. The East Bay Origami Convention. Five × 1 =.

Andrea Hawksley - Trivia

http://www.andreahawksley.com/trivia.html

You have found the bonus trivia page. I believe that maintaining a defined set of quirks makes life more interesting. After all, it might not make much of a difference if the total after tip were just any arbitrary value, but spending the extra moment to make it is a palindromic number is just more amusing. Life is too short to not find joy in the everyday. I match (or mis-match) my socks according to the following rules:. Socks must be in the same style. Socks must share pattern, color scheme, or both.

Andrea Hawksley - Art

http://www.andreahawksley.com/art.html

Is one of my favorite hobbies. I love re-imagining the world in a way that is a little more structured, much more symmetrical, and perhaps quite a bit surprising. I often work with everyday materials such as spaper, hair ties, and sunglasses because these are materials that people connect with. This inspires interest in the pieces and helps to make the final objects more accessible. My origami has been displayed at the Fuller Craft Museum. The Wiesner Student Art Gallery. The Origami USA convention.

Andrea Hawksley - Games

http://www.andreahawksley.com/games.html

I particularly enjoy the exercise of generating new games by "hybridizing" two old games. I have invented numerous hybrid games over the years. Of particular note are Chutes and Ladders Carcassonne. And the Hybrid SET Theorem. Here are some favorites:. Chutes and Ladders Carcassonne. The Hybrid SET Theorem (also, games involving SET). Reverse Apples to Apples. Why not host your own Hybrid Board Games Party. I made this fully playable magnetic wall scrabble set in 2005.

160;Security Linux Reverse Engineering. Saturday, December 21, 2013. Synology DSM multiple directory traversal. I'm again here with a Synology DSM vulnerability. I found a lot of directory traversal in the FileBrowser components. This kind of vulnerability allows any authenticated user, even if not administrative, to access, create, delete, modify system and configuration files. Not tested all the CGI, but I guess that many others are vulnerable, so don't take my list as comprehensive. Links to this post.

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. For the past several weeks (really since the last show), I have been trying to decide how to express in a blog what I was thinking and feeling. Becca (Becca Sharp who did my website) has been saying “when is your next blog? I claimed I couldn’t decide what I wanted to write, but the truth is I didn’t know how to write it.
