Adding a custom resource type to the Zend Framework autoloader. December 11, 2013. Because I can never remember how to do this and because it’s not that easy to find on google I have copied the info here. Here’s what you need to do:. Full credit goes to http:/ pietervogelaar.nl/. For this copy and paste. This week I wanted to created the folder “application/grids/” to store my grids in. For example the path to the grid is “application/grids/Product.php”. The code inside this PHP file:. It would be even n...

The Blog of Andy 'Ando' Jones | Perth, Western Australia
The Blog of Andy Jones. Pyromesh: The End of an Era. June 15th, 2014. There are so many changes in the pipeline for me, on a personal level. One of the biggest being the break up of a love of fifteen years. It’s time for Pyromesh to call it a day. Without any pretentious thoughts and only feelings of sincerity, I’d like to pay homage to those who have made this band what it is. I love you, man. Ashley Doodkorte, the man . I get a lump in my throat thinking about the buckets of sweat and blood that yo...

Just another WordPress weblog. So what is a PhD? September 24th, 2011. Or the musings of a 2. Year [part time] research student). You say to yourself but develop your idea a little bit more and think a little bit deeper and perhaps deeper still. That’s the vacant stare into space that usually happens when somebody is giving you instructions for the next phase of landscaping the garden or reminding you that it really is time to tidy up the garage or the study or both. So what is a PhD? A PhD is a. After a...

Student, Art Center College of Design, Graphic Design. January 17, 2015. Currently obsessed with The Ting Ting’s. Albeit simple (and to some, perhaps boring), the music video for this is beautiful. I love everything from the visual play of light and shadow down to the deliberate cuts to harmonize the band’s dance moves with the beat of the music. Oh, and not to mention, the song’s pretty groovy as well. August 19, 2014. The Girl From Umbra. Map of the island of San Serriffe. July 20, 2014. Although archi...
Andy's Random Ramblings
Thursday, 3 September 2015. After the IRW rocket event, I went down to the Lake District for a couple of days walking in the hills. On the first (half) day I did a quick trip to Aira Force, which is a bit touristy and famous, but it's somewhere I'd never been, despite going right past the car park several times on previous trips. Shame there was no stunning view from the top of Skiddaw. On day 3, I walked from Glenridding up past Greenside Mine (but on the other side of the river). Next time I shall try ...

Successful habits through smoothly ratcheting targets. Adopting new habits is hard! What a shame: New Year’s resolutions could represent such a bright spark of optimism. Instead, they’re a clichéd punchline on the futility of human will. Certainly, my own past attempts have deserved those jokes! I’d like to share my approach: smoothly ratcheted targets, in moving weekly windows, with teeth. Before I unpack that, let’s cover some background. Want an email when I write something new? Did I have a good day?
