Call me crazy: The perfect anxiety release
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011/04/perfect-anxiety-release.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Friday, April 15, 2011. The perfect anxiety release. Weather.com's 10-day forecast: a refreshing frenzy and the anxious marathon runner's dream. If the temps would stop rising, that would be lovely! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Crazy for Bottom Line. As a member of Team Go Far, my goal is to raise $7,000 for Bottom Line. We work with low-income, first-generation college students to help them get into and graduate from college. Race to the finish!

Call me crazy: February 2011
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, February 20, 2011. I'm in the middle of a glorious four-day weekend, which has left me with lots of time to catch up on errands and to also spend my time pretty whimsically. Unfortunately for me, this has led me to several recent failures. Friday: Phone broke, bought new phone with upgrade, spent 75 minutes with Verizon customer service while sitting in my car listening to the radio. Then had to call Triple A to jumpstart my car. February," he said.

Call me crazy: December 2010
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, December 26, 2010. I saw Santa steal a cookie at 7:30am on Christmas morning and tried to chase after him. Luckily, I was already dressed head-to-toe in spandex, and had my running sneaks, gloves, and ear warmer on. I chased after that scoundrel for nine miles before remembering my mom was baking her pumpkin bread, anyway. But seriously, it's the holiday season! Thursday, December 23, 2010. Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Evidence that my master plan ha...

Call me crazy: April 2011
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Monday, April 25, 2011. In preparation for the big day, Coach Rick advised the Marathon Coalition to mentally break the course down into manageable segments. He focuses first on miles 0-6 to get into the groove, then miles 6-16 he picks up the pace. Miles 16-21 are, "where you realize what kind of day you're going to have." Miles 21-26 are relatively downhill and, as I'm now finding, indescribable. Mile 1: Entirely focused on not going out too quickly. Mile 3...

Call me crazy: Time to vote: motivational movies
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011/04/time-to-vote-motivational-movies.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Saturday, April 9, 2011. Time to vote: motivational movies. It is certainly largely due to the generosity of others that I have made it this far in marathon training (ahem . and fundraising). From supporting me financially, emotionally, mentally, and even reading this blog, everyone has been amazing! In case you need some inspiration today, here are some words from the late Jim Valvano:. Call me crazy: March 2011
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, March 27, 2011. Yesterday, I burned over 2,000 calories by running 21 miles along the Boston Marathon course. Don't get the wrong idea here- I am not running a marathon to lose weight. What a horrible, horrible endeavor that would be. My guess is that people who go into marathon training trying to lose weight often do one of two things: 1) Pass out, or 2) Quit. Monday, March 21, 2011. Four weeks 'til race day. Sunday, March 13, 2011. It was also a rel...

Call me crazy: My first Heartbreak
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2010/12/my-first-heartbreak.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, December 5, 2010. Yesterday was the first day of official training for team Go Far. Every Saturday, we will be meeting as a team, along with an entire coalition of education-based charity runners, in Newton, for an 8am pep talk followed by a run somewhere along the actual marathon course. Yes, this means that my Fridays until late April will end at 11pm when my head hits the pillow. Yes, this makes me sad. December 6, 2010 at 10:29 AM.
