Reading Japanese – brilliant years

http://blog.brilliantyears.net/archives/category/reading-japanese

Challenges & Events. Review] きまぐれロボット by Shin’ichi Hoshi. Review] きまぐれロボット by Shin’ichi Hoshi. 28 August, 2015. きまぐれロボット (The Whimsical Robot). On 2006 (first published 1972). Or, The Whimsical Robot. I do have a few favourite stories. Coincidentally the stories I most enjoyed were near the back of the book: ネコ(The cat), 花とひみつ(Flowers and secrets), and とりひき(The deal). It’s hard to say something about stories that are this short, so I won’t say anything to avoid spoiling. Would I recommend this book?

A Month of J-Lit Wonders. Bellezza's Japanese Literature Challenge. Friday, 30 January 2015. J-Lit Giants: 17 - Keigo Higashino. With January in Japan. Fast coming to an end, we just have time for one more writer to be inducted into the J-Lit Giants pantheon, and today's author is a more contemporary choice. I'm not a huge fan of crime fiction, but Kim Forrester. Curator of the Reading Matters. Blog, is, and in this piece she explains why Keigo Higashino. Deserves his place in our Hall of Fame :). Spoilers in book blurbs: now that's stupid! - Maple Books

http://www.maplebooks.ca/spoilers-in-book-blurbs

Canadian Literature Book Reviews. June 11, 2015. Spoilers in book blurbs: now that’s stupid! I don’t read book blurbs anymore. I didn’t even notice at first. At some point in the last few years, I started to read less and less of the book blurbs. As soon as I’d get the idea of what the book is about, I would stop. It’s. Which made the problem clear to me. I was fortunate enough to read the blurb. Was it an accident? Pointing that her article contained spoilers. Mind you, I just reached the 47% mark.

Monday, January 28, 2013. In this post I would like to make a few Korean literature recommendations. While more and more is being written about this topic, it is still sometimes a little difficult to know where to get started. I am not an expert by any means, for that I will direct you to Charles Montgomery of KTLIT. Korean noir detective fiction and the most recently written of my recommendations. You can find a review here. 장군의 수염) by Yi Oryong / Lee Oyoung (이어령). 날개) by Yi Sang. All three recommendati...

Reading - Of Dragons and Hearts

Of Dragons and Hearts. This is a list of websites (blogs and everything else) that I like to read. They are roughly separated into categories and listed alphabetically. I hope you’ll enjoy some of them as well, they are written by some truly nice people! Of blogs, so I put a star (*) next to those blogs I find especially awesome (but that doesn’t mean the others aren’t also very good, it’s just a matter of time – if you have limited amounts of it, go to the starred blogs first). 2017 Reading Stats & Favourites. 22 February, 2018. I’m late to the party, as usual! I had actually planned to do a broader post on things I enjoyed in 2017 (including podcasts, books, tv series, apps, theatre) but it’s taking me far too long to write. It’ll show up here, at some point, but for now let’s focus on books! In 2016 I vouched to read as many books by and about women, LGBTQIA and POC. In 2017 I happily continued this trend. No regrets (and in fact, I’m still doing this in 2018! And I can&#8217...
