Life & Death at Christmas Place. May 2, 2016 | christmasplace. 124; East Tennessee. Over the weekend, we noticed that a duck has nested and laid several eggs under a sheltering tree in our courtyard train bed. The eggs are a beautiful light turquoise color (though you can’t see it in these photos). We’ve also noticed this morning that a young red-tailed hawk has spotted the nest and is anxious for a meal! Christmas Trees 2016 – “Christmas Cabin”. August 17, 2016 | christmasplace. 124; 2016 Christmas Trees. Complimenting the tree decorations is a new collection of dishes, mugs, and flour-sack towels that everyone who loves snowmen will have to have – four different works of snowman art are featured on the two sizes of plates, oversized mugs, and towels. The elves are hoping they’ll leave us the little cubby underneath – just the right size for a few elf bunk-beds, don’t you think? Weather is good so I am trying to get the outside done as much as possible today . Also getting the tree up is becoming a challange. Next year for sure, NO more placing plastic bins of Christmas decor in attic, getting way to hard to crawl around up there. So Far - -. Lights on as I go up - - - - i't slike a real tree with the way the needles drop.

Steve and I went to the Jefferson Hotel on Sunday to see the Christmas decorations Jan. 4th before they came down for the year the day after. Old Pompey lived here at the Jefferson until his death in 1948. Tourist from Florida, brought alligators here when they became to large to take care of. Lobby and Jefferson in the distance. Looks like one got out.
