No Fruits Harmed in the Making of this Juice. Saturday, January 2, 2010. This is a long-winded way of saying that I never have any idea what the actual year is, anymore, without checking a calendar or asking someone who preferably doesn't also work in publishing. In some ways, the new decade started for me three years ago, which makes all the "looking back" posts and articles a bit odd for me. (10 years ago I was a junior in high school! I'll be posting here with updates about my challenges. The firs...

Made from Concentrate: November 2008
http://cawthraven.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
No Fruits Harmed in the Making of this Juice. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Home Again, Home Again? I think it's a pretty good sign that you've moved out of your mom's house mentally as well as physically when you forget where the outlets are in your former bedroom. Every time I come home, I find a little bit more of my mom's things in my bedroom. And I've usually brought a few more with me to Boston. Links to this post. Saturday, November 15, 2008. Basse de Viole: September 2008
http://bassedeviole.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 18, 2008. There is something so invigorating about fall weather, the crispness of the mornings, the lazy warmth of the afternoons. I've been sleeping with the windows open and a big comforter wrapped all around me. I love the juxtaposition of the warmth and the cold air on my face. There is leftover sweet potato bread and rice and curry from my cooking efforts last night, I think they will make a lovely lunch after I finish my tea. Monday, September 1, 2008. Basse de Viole: A Virtual Homecoming?
http://bassedeviole.blogspot.com/2009/04/virtual-homecoming.html
Friday, April 10, 2009. I decided to post something here since I haven't in a long time and for no explicable reason I have begun to feel guilty about this. Let's see, since November, I have:. Gotten my new/old cello! Taken a medieval notation class that is a lot of hard work but really fun (it's like solving puzzles! And mostly enjoyable. I can now decipher really old music. On the table right now:. Am still dating K. This isn't so much of an accomplishment, per se, but it kind of feels like one....

Basse de Viole: April 2008
http://bassedeviole.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 22, 2008. I've been unproductive recently. This happens to me with alarming regularity, for a few days I just won't be able to do anything useful that's not scheduled. This used to be less of a problem back when everything in my life was scheduled and had due dates. Now that I'm supposed to be self-motivated and ambitious, losing days to my meandering motivation is keeping me from doing everything I want to. I love this weather, if only it would stay like this and never get too hot! In the...

Basse de Viole: Daifuku
http://bassedeviole.blogspot.com/2008/11/daifuku.html
Thursday, November 6, 2008. I have been craving sweetened red bean paste for months. Last night, I finally got my fix. J and K and I made mochi (the cheating way in the microwave) and filled it with deliciousness from a can of bean paste that has been sitting in our pantry just waiting for the right ceremonial moment to be opened. So delicious and not particularly hard to make either! And now to gobble up the leftovers . . . . November 6, 2008 at 12:30 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Basse de Viole: May 2008
http://bassedeviole.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 29, 2008. Last night, climbing, I flashed a route that at first I thought would be too hard for me (it was rated 5.8 ). Even Kayle (with all his extra height and wingspan) had some trouble with it. I felt like I could do anything! I don't know what will happen once the school year starts and I'm busy again, but for the summer, I'm going to keep running around as much as I can. Monday, May 26, 2008. Sunday, May 25, 2008.
