Look For The Bright Side: January 2017
https://lookforthebrightside.blogspot.com/2017/01
Look For The Bright Side. Saturday, January 28, 2017. Today is Chinese New Year. This year is the Year of the Rooster, which is my year. Since a majority of my friends are also roosters, I thought I'd share some lucky/unlucky things to know from this very informative website called China Highlights. For the past two weeks Leah has been participating in an after school (at the school) introductory Tae Kwon Do program which culminated in a graduation ceremony today at the dojang. Leah with Master Park.

Look For The Bright Side: Election 2016
https://lookforthebrightside.blogspot.com/2016/10/election-2016.html
Look For The Bright Side. Friday, October 21, 2016. As election day approaches, I can't help but join in the fray and comment on my favorite candidate. I mean, usually, I follow the adage of not talking politics or religion, but I must say my peace. Yes, Leah decided to run for SCA (Student Cooperative Association) President at school. Only fifth graders can run for president (and secretary) and out of the blue, Leah came home a couple weeks ago and said she planned on running. I made Leah a cake topper.

Look For The Bright Side: Red Ribbon Week
https://lookforthebrightside.blogspot.com/2016/10/red-ribbon-week.html
Look For The Bright Side. Friday, October 28, 2016. This past week (October 24-28) was Red Ribbon Week at school. It's an anti-drug/school spirit week where the kids are encouraged to wear thematic or crazy clothing. It's always fun for the kids (and me) to do this as we've done this in the past at other schools. I didn't know it was an actual thing. Like a nationwide thing that's been around since 1985, developed to honor a fallen DEA agent. Don't Let Drugs Twist Your Mind! Wear your favorite team shirt.

Look For The Bright Side: It's a Marshmallow World in the Winter
https://lookforthebrightside.blogspot.com/2017/01/its-marshmallow-world-in-winter.html
Look For The Bright Side. Monday, January 9, 2017. It's a Marshmallow World in the Winter. Remember that song, "It's a marshmallow world in the winter, when the snow is covering the ground."? Our snowy house (and yard and driveway.). By 2pm, it had snowed about 4 inches. And was still snowing). View from our back yard. Is the car on the road or parked in a lot? Leah and Aaron give snow a thumbs up! The snow wasn't the wet, sticky good-for-snowman-making. The cold and the wind made Aaron's face. I am, how...

Look For The Bright Side: February 2017
https://lookforthebrightside.blogspot.com/2017/02
Look For The Bright Side. Friday, February 24, 2017. Valentine's Day 2017: Books, Tacos and Tae Kwon Do. The Bookmarkers: Ian, Leah and Aliyah. Well, during the later rounds tears were just streaming down her cheeks. She was so upset as they kept getting answer after answer wrong. I think it was a combination of fear, frustration, stress and really wanting to win. The only thing that could console her? Nothing says Valentine's Day. Dinner like a bunch of tacos. As Aaron likes to say,. Posted by Julie Rich.

Look For The Bright Side: March 2015
https://lookforthebrightside.blogspot.com/2015/03
Look For The Bright Side. Friday, March 27, 2015. The restaurant was pretty cool. It has traditional Japanese elements like removing your shoes at the entryway. There were lockers for your shoes except instead of a metal key, there was a thin, wood block with grooves cut into it that worked like a key. Shoe lockers with wooden keys. The tables appeared to be traditional seating as well, with no chairs but underneath there was an area cut out so your legs could drop as if you were seated in a chair. It's n...
