Game designers blog mostly about technical stuff. UE4] Adding a custom shading model (Part II). This is the second part of the shading model implementation. In this part we are going to edit a few shader files. Unreal shader files end with a .usf but if you are familiar with hlsl you shouldn’t have any problems. You should also at least understand what deferred rendering means. If you are unfamiliar with that subject take a look at Wikipedia. Alright time to move on. We will also make use of it later.

Felix Kate game design portfolio. About and contact me. UE4 / 6 Gamedesign students 3 media informatic students. Run until the end, sound-input, stealth elements. My biggest project group so far with a count of seven (later six) gamedesign students and three media informatic students as support. The game is about an alien bug that tries to escape it's imrpisonment in a scientific laboratory. To use the special abilities the player has to use a microphone to capture his humming. Work on this project.

(UE4 just came out for public with subscription the holidays before). The character is a young normadic women that comes back to her village only to find it burnt down to ashes. Alone she crosses the vast sceneric landscapes to find the members of her clan. To survive in the nature she needs to find her own food and craft a variety of tools.

Felix Kate game design portfolio. About and contact me. UDK / 5 Gamedesign students. First person, only Kismet (node based coding system). This was the 3rd semester university project I was part of. Anansi is a small platformer played in the first person perspective. The player takes control of Anansi, a demihuman that is half spider and half man. By using his nets his goal is to climb a mountain by swinging from lantern to lantern. Work on this project. Implementation gameplay mechanics in UDK's Kismet.

Felix Kate game design portfolio. About and contact me. Creating a character from scratch. This is a character I had to do as a task for the HTW. For modelling the mesh I used my student license of 3ds Max and for the texture ClipStudioPaint. The rigging (and animation) were done in Maya (HIK rig with a few custom controls). The characters head also includes a few WIP morphs for eye blink and mouth movement. A few bones are driven by custom script physics while other motions use the IK of humanoid rigs.
