Ramblings of a Sysadmin: June 2011
https://blog.gdwnet.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a Sysadmin. A view from inside the world of IT System Administration. Thursday, June 30, 2011. The issue with antivirus software (2). Of a new botnet set up that is trying to be indestuctible thanks to hiding in the MBR. According to the BBC article 'Code that hijacks a PC hides in places security software rarely looks and the botnet is controlled using custom-made encryption.'. AV Software is basically arse about face. It scans for things that SHOULD NOT be there whereas it should be sc...
Ramblings of a Sysadmin: September 2011
https://blog.gdwnet.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a Sysadmin. A view from inside the world of IT System Administration. Friday, September 02, 2011. Looking at Home Storage systems - OpenFiler. Like many geeks I've got a considerable amount of storage at home - currently, that's around 7TB split between various storage systems and it doesn't include space provided by Hard Drives in various bits of hardware I have scattered around the study. After HP introduced their Microserver. Booting from a 16GB USB stick would be perfect for this job.
Ramblings of a Sysadmin: VMWare VCenter 5.1 SSO - The worst installer out there?

Ramblings of a Sysadmin. A view from inside the world of IT System Administration. Thursday, May 30, 2013. VMWare VCenter 5.1 SSO - The worst installer out there? I've spent the past few days attempting to install VMWare's VCenter 5.1 but the installer has other ideas, I first tried the install from build 947939 and each time I am hitting the same error:. Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Cannot open database "RSA" requested by the login. The login failed. Further digging into the vminst log shows this:.
Ramblings of a Sysadmin: The four constraints of a Project

Ramblings of a Sysadmin. A view from inside the world of IT System Administration. Monday, December 03, 2012. The four constraints of a Project. Today I came across an interesting blog article on Wayne Hales blog. It's about a comment made by Admiral Gehman (Head of the CAIB. Regarding Space Shuttle Management at NASA. I've copied the key part below:. What has this got to do with IT projects? The timeframe for the project, including testing and documentation. The budget for the project including overtime.
Ramblings of a Sysadmin: Windows 8 Preview
https://blog.gdwnet.com/2012/09/windows-8-preview.html
Ramblings of a Sysadmin. A view from inside the world of IT System Administration. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. I will have to admit that it was with some trepidation that I installed Windows 8 onto an old laptop that I have had lurking around for a few years. This laptop is what I call my 'scarificial laptop' in that it can be formatted and have an OS dumped on it with no loss of data. It's purely there for specific testing that needs a piece of hardware. So, after that false start I opted to go the old...

Runway Two-Seven: SODA Story Goes...
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015/08/soda-story-goes.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. This was one of the biggest milestones I've been wanting to get behind me since I started flying - my Medical Flight Test. The day has arrived. We're flying to KJVY to meet the FAA Airman Safety Inspector (ASI) who will be evaluating my performance to ensure my visual deficit is not a factor in my abilities. There are two possible outcomes: Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory. This will be a slightly long post as it is really three flights in one. Once I got somewhat adjusted and re...
Runway Two-Seven: Over the River
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015/07/over-river.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. After another, long, multi-week delay, I finally got back in the air Tuesday evening. Yes, the engine was back in the plane two weeks ago. However, contrary to what my CFI and I understood, it was a brand new engine that had to be broken in. The first 4 hours on the engine have to be cross-country flight. Not that big a deal, right? If everything goes right, it's not. Since when has anything about these delays gone as expected though? As we put 34Q away I noticed some nearly-evap...
Runway Two-Seven: January 2015
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Got a text from Randy this morning. They're replacing the door panels/leather in 34Q, which won't be done until Friday, so no lesson this week. Just as well. I had a long weekend due to a complication with my daughter's health, and I'm still fighting off the scratchy throat I had just before my trip to Tampa. I could use the extra time to regroup. Two Victor Uniform, clear of the active. Monday, January 26, 2015. 34Q was already outside and chocked. Right away Randy showed ...
Runway Two-Seven: Bring Me Solo
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015/06/bring-me-solo.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Seriously. Forget the Wookie, I just want to solo. Last week's lesson (Tuesday, 6/9) was strictly focused on landings. With a 9-knot direct crosswind, chances of soloing were slim, but I still had hope. However, I went into the lesson disregarding the idea of soloing, just wanting to make up for my previous lesson that proved how bad an idea it is for me to fly when I haven't slept much. I'll leave it up to you.". Decision made. So I suggested, since the plane may be down ye...
Runway Two-Seven: July 28, 2015 - A Day I Will Never Forget
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015/07/july-28-2015-day-i-will-never-forget.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. July 28, 2015 - A Day I Will Never Forget. I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth. And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;. Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth. Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things. You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung. High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,. I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung. My eager craft through footless halls of air.". John Gillespie Magee, Jr., "High Flight". Landing 2...
Runway Two-Seven: March 2015
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 23, 2015. A Pilot Looks at 40. There are times in life when you set a goal, and you set out to reach said goal in a certain timeframe, with nothing in your way. Before long you reach that goal with a major sense of accomplishment and pride. Then there are times when you set out to reach a goal, with nothing in your way, and circumstances beyond your control suddenly force you to delay reaching the finish line. To share what's on your mind or what you experience? It'll be worth it in the end...
Runway Two-Seven: This Old "Thing"
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015/06/this-old-thing.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. No I, um. I can't go in this. It's, uh. It's broken.". No, it's not broken, it's being. Six Days, Seven Nights. So, we decided to meet at the airport Tuesday evening anyway and work on prepping for the oral exam portion of my checkride. Yes, it's actually that close. Just have to finish up solo, cross-country, nail down all the flight requirements. Current plan is to fly Tuesday evening, weather permitting. Absolutely no reason the plane shouldn't be ready by then. Not exac...On th...
Runway Two-Seven: May 2015
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2015. Back in the Saddle. It's been a while since I posted anything, mainly because it's been a while since I've done any flying. Ironically, I'm writing this post on the one year anniversary of my first post to this blog. The things I didn't know then.but I digress. Need to know how to handle it. CFI called me on the way to the airport, asked if we were still on. I said yes, it's a little cloudy and gusty, but at the least we can get some crosswind landings in. He agreed. Slow flight w...
Runway Two-Seven: February 2015
http://runwaytwoseven.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Weather permitting, my medical flight test will occur on Tuesday, March 3rd, beginning at 10:30 AM EDT at KJVY in Jeffersonville, IN. I spoke yesterday with the CFI/Ops Inspector that will be doing my test. Here's what's on the agenda/expected of me during the flight:. I will be PIC, with no control input from the inspector. (Upon hearing that I had not soloed yet, his response was, "Well, congratulations, your first solo is with me."). Can you see it? How far away is it?

Kreacje, które podbiły świat mody. W historii filmu można spotkać projekty odzieżowe i kostiumy, które przechodzą do kanonu klasyki lub rewolucjonizując rynek mody.
