Thursday, July 23, 2015. A Little Beach Magic. The fish weren't biting and the black flies were. Usually, that puts a crimp into the surf fishing fun on Assateague Island. But the island’s famous residents, its ponies, saved the day with a priceless moment. Bedeviled by the flies even more than we were, they plunged into the ocean for a brief frolic.
