Look for two things to happen: There’s going to be a lot more social, and it’s going to be a lot less effective. A few weeks ago, the Grand Rapids Press ran a story about a local business that was getting some buzz. This group created a platform that lets an employer piggyback on employee social media networks. This isn’t social media. This is spam. We are drowning in noise.

We live in an old house with hot water heat, so when the boiler stopped working, things got chilly. Did I mention that it was the weekend? The company that installed our boiler had gone out of business, so I went to Google. Using keywords like “heating” and “boiler” and “Grand Rapids” returned a decent list of companies. I visited their websites. The first had a Twitter account, and had tweeted.
