Using technology to teach and do chemistry. RSS feeds and the chemistry literature A quick primer. Went over pretty well, so I thought I’d follow-up with a quick how-to on RSS feeds for the uninitiated. Truthfully, this is a tremendously simple process. All that’s needed is a feed aggregator. For this purpose, I chose RSSOwl. This actually isn’t what I use (I use Reeder. As a client for Feedbin. This entry was posted in RSS. January 14, 2015. RSS feeds and the chemistry literature. Using technology to teach and do chemistry. Visualizing molecular isosurfaces (MOs, etc.) in Blender. For all that I like using Blender as a tool to visualize molecular structures. There are obvious tradeoffs when using general-purpose software instead of something customized for chemistry. One of those tradeoffs is that there’s no obvious way to import various kinds of computational chemistry data. Does the job wonderfully, and with minimal fuss. Continue reading →. It works pretty well, and it’s infinitely more straightforward than doing it in Word. However, LaTeX doesn’t natively wrap text around figures, and sometimes you really need to maximize the use of space. In pure LaTeX, this can be done with the wrapfig. Continue reading →. Using technology to teach and do chemistry. A Python script for grading partial credit multiple choice: Part 2 Using the script. So, in the last post. I introduced a little Python script. That I use to process the output of Scantron forms. So how do you go about actually using it? The script is written in Python. Which will be the subject of many future posts.]. Python is free and installation is fairly straightforward if you don’t have it already. You can get it from Python.org. I’ve used Anaconda.

Skip to search - Accesskey = s. Time to Hunker Down? By Wayne Tilde on the November 4th, 2008. The economy is slow. Business is slow. There are lots of crazy antics on Wall Street. The government is spending money like a drunken sailor trying to turn things around. Sounds like the end of the world as we know it, right? So think about it. Put in some effort now, ride out the storm and smash your competitors when things settle down again. Sorry I’m late but the toilet overflowed. You have probably heard ab...
