July 26, 2015. 8220;Hi, I’m Jordan Atherton from Newcastle University, England, conducting research here at CEI for my final year thesis project. I’m looking at how the fish assemblages on the coral reef here are affected by different habitat complexities by method of underwater visual census, so plenty of diving! You are what you eat and what your dinner eats, too! May 20, 2015. As any angler will tell you, fresh fish is the best fish (Fig. 1)! Even non-anglers would insist that grilled wahoo, dockside yellowfin sashimi, or fried dolphinfish fingers are best when fresh from the sea. Knowing your fish is wild-caught means there are no questions about the quality of the fillet, or the fish’s diet right? The South Eleuthera Children’s Camp celebrates its 20th year! August 12, 2015. Aside from learning to swim, the campers learned about ocean conservation and the marine creatures that inhabit their waters. At the end of the week, each camper gave a presentation of what they had learned to an audience of master student scientists from around the world. CEI shark team pulls in rare catch! September 18, 2016. On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, the CEI Shark Research and Conservation Team caught and sampled a huge 258 cm male lemon shark ( Negaprion brevirostris. Research Tech Maggie Winchester holds a 258cm long lemon shark in tonic immobility.
