Sermon Archive
https://blog.joshgordon.net/sermon-archive
I got fed up with the appearance of my Church's sermon archive (which was just an FTP site - not very pretty or user friendly.), so I. Wrote up a more elegant frontend. It's a single file webpage, which just reads the directory structures and files off the disk and renders pages on the fly. All things considered, it's darned fast. (That's one of the great things about Digital Ocean's. A live demo is available here. And you can see my code on github. What color is it? The beginning of the end.

Sin; integrated into culture. As many of you know, I don't blog much. It's just that these thoughts have been swirling around in my head for most of the afternoon, and I'd like to get them out there. (and a single facebook status probably isn't long or verbose enough to say what I want.). I am conflicted inside. On one hand, we are not judges of other people (remember, we are all sinful as they are, our sins are just less visibile externally, and therefore more dangerous! What other sins do we see as "no...
Mindset of eternity

If you know me at all, you know I'm a HUGE. Switchfoot fan. By far, though, my favorite song is the one that, as Jon Foreman puts it (paraphrasing, it's been nearly a year since I saw them last. Feeling the withdrawl. ok, maybe not) "talks about the place with no more tears, no more pain, and no more suffereing.". Maybe I'd better start doing meta-meta-journaling. Then again, I suppose that's what this paragraph is. Time to move onto meta-meta-meta-journaling. Until I die I'll sing these songs. I want to...

This is a presentation that I gave for my Scripting Languages class at UMBC. I decided that Version Control systems are an integral part of most programming jobs, and that the average student doesn't really understand their usefulness. I was unhappy with the default binary watchface that came with the pebble, so I changed a little bit around and now it's better.

Josh Haas's Web Log
Josh Haas's Web Log. The Weirdness of Kentucky Route Zero. In my last post. I took issue with the TV show Mr. Robot. For not being weird enough. Although imaginative and compelling, its universe is well-ordered: everything happens for a reason. If you’re looking for media to consume that doesn’t suffer from that problem, I recommend Kentucky Route Zero. The medium is appropriate: it makes a better game than it would a book or a tv show. The ambition seems to be to create a world, and the ability to e...
