January 25, 2015. Each Dv fatality results in approximately 2 million dollars of aggregated cost to state (San Diego/ Gateway Center Feasibility Study). Maryland reduced DV fatalities by 34% when they implemented ODARA-basedlethality assessments. Oregon averages 38 DV fatalities per year over the last decade. 34% =13 fatalities prevented, if ODARA lethality assessments are adopted, at a savings of 26 Million dollars PER YEAR in the state of Oregon. Oregon Police do not enforce 87% of protection orders.
