Musings & Daydreams: December 2014
http://klikphotographic.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 26, 2014. How was your Christmas? Ours was great. What I loved the most was watching my boys getting so excited in anticipation of opening all their gifts. And just like last year. Lego was the big hit in our house. Below are a few highlights of our Christmas morning. Posted by Kyrani Kanavaros. Links to this post. Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Sometimes, the most beautiful things happen when we give ourselves over to chaos, if only for an hour or two. Posted by Kyrani Kanavaros. I took th...

Musings & Daydreams: Invoking the Muse On Board the Queen of Nanaimo

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Invoking the Muse On Board the Queen of Nanaimo. On a recent trip to Saltspring Island. I was expecting to shoot a lot of the island itself. However, being in a picturesque setting, doesn't mean the muse will pay a visit. Turns out, I got more photos on the ferry than I did from our stay on the island. Posted by Kyrani Kanavaros. I am continually in awe of how fast the time goes, especially after these two came into my life. These are their official "eight year old" portraits, but I can honestly say, I can see them at 18 in these photos too. The old adage, "they grow up too fast" is a huge understatement! Are you capturing your children's growth in yearly birthday portraits? Links to this post.

Musings & Daydreams: October 2014

Monday, October 6, 2014. Observations at City Lights Bookstore. I've just finished reading a fabulous book called Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. Tons of great advice not just about creating art but life in general. I've been marking it up like crazy. One sentence though has stood out for me so far and I haven't been able to stop thinking about. It's on page 20: "there's magic in being surrounded by books". It took me back to a series of photos I took at City Lights Bookstore. Links to this post.

Musings & Daydreams: East Van Odyssey, Part 2
http://klikphotographic.blogspot.com/2015/06/east-van-odyssey-part-2.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. East Van Odyssey, Part 2. I'm so excited to share these photos with you. Why? They're all take with something I haven't used in ages: film. I have a manual Leica camera that I haven't used much. Though I have a stash of film I bought a while ago, I'm hesitant to use it for a few reasons - maybe I don't know what I'm doing - there's no instant feedback! On Instagram until July 31. I can't wait to see my neighbourhood through your eyes. Posted by Kyrani Kanavaros. Du Pareil Au Meme.

Musings & Daydreams: How To Toilet Train Your Kids In One Week Or Less
http://klikphotographic.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-toilet-train-your-kids-in-one.html
Monday, March 28, 2011. How To Toilet Train Your Kids In One Week Or Less. Nicholas had zero interest in using the bathroom. I was feeling very discouraged as my 2011 new years resolution was to have both boys fully trained by their 4th birthday. 5 days to go before they turned 4, Nicholas still showed no interest. The rewards didn't work for him. I read books and looked online for any tips and nothing helped. I felt like a failure. Was worth every penny! Now if only I had known about. Du Pareil Au Meme.

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Breaking the Rules: Hard Light Photography. I shot this creative last fall in East Vancouver and can finally share the edited photos with you. The autumn sun at high noon last November made for some hard light photographs I just love. And to think you shouldn't shoot people at high noon. I say, rules are meant to be broken, especially in photography and other creative pursuits. I don't think anyone ever stumbled upon beauty while playing it safe, do you? Links to this post.
