Ragnarok — Anyone reading this?

http://blog.marksteve.com/ragnarok

I just recently heard news about pRO closing down. And it made me very nostalgic. Monday came and I told my friends in class about the game. One of them already knew about it and said there was a computer shop around that had it. We went there after classes. That was the first day I played Ragnarok. I can’t remember the name I gave my character but it was something related to magic. But I ended up first in Payon which is the archer village. I eventually stopped playing a while after my friends did. T...

Talking — Anyone reading this?

http://blog.marksteve.com/talking

I’m not good with talking specially when I haven’t had beer yet. I avoid eye contact. I stare at my slides. My voice breaks. When I’m tipsy I loosen up. I can look up. But I slur like what drunk people do. I’ve done a number of talks but I still feel uncomfortable doing it. But I still accept when I’m invited. It’s something I want to be good at. And to be good at something, you need practice. And beer. In case you want to tell me something: hello@marksteve.com.

Anyone reading this?

http://blog.marksteve.com/2014

Is almost over. I’ve always had a new blog to write on whenever I do my year-ender posts but I’ve stuck with Svbtle for this year! So, I basically checked my timeline in Facebook, Twitter and GitHub and stuck moments here #lazyblogging (NTS: I could totally automate this! Here’s my 2014 by the month:. Got an electronic drum set. Joined Stripe CTF (got a participation shirt :P). Tried React.js for the first time. This was a big moment for me :). Wrote a Flappy Bird clone. Had 2 dates on Valentines :).

Insync's new crib — Anyone reading this?

http://blog.marksteve.com/insyncs-new-crib

There have been lots of big changes for people I know since the start of 2015. Relationships ending and beginning, friends working out of the country, friends moving out to live in their own places and a bunch more that mind my hasn’t finished digesting yet. Another big change happened yesterday. We just moved in to our new place! I started packing last Saturday. I didn’t know I had so much stuff in our office! We have lots of chairs. We have walk-in closets!

SVI — Anyone reading this?

http://blog.marksteve.com/svi

Time flies. It’s been almost a year since I joined Stef. Stef pitched me the idea. John sold it. They wanted to find better ways of doing remote work and growing a distributed team. They did. And I’m glad I was a part of it. It’s my last week with SVI. I’ll be attending my last hack session with the team next Monday. But it probably won’t be the last time we’ll work together. So instead of saying good bye , I’ll just say see y'all . :). In case you want to tell me something: hello@marksteve.com.

Musings of a long time computer geek. JQuery Jerky slideUp and slideDown With Twitter Bootstrap Well. I am using the jQuery slideUp. Transitions with a Twitter Bootstrap Well. And while it was functional, it felt very jerky at the beginning of the slideDown transition and at the end of the slideUp transition. You can see an example of this here: http:/ jsfiddle.net/tWTB6/. Code and Play is writing on the Svbtle. Web dude at Insync. Writes in Python, Javascript and Go. I just realized how brilliant Google is. Search is the last interface. Why? The best interface is no interface.*. Search is the least interface you can get. One input. Phones. Watches. Brain implants. Works with anything. And I was wondering why everyone was upping their search game. Nobody’s won yet though. I haven’t read the book but I completely agree with the title. Continue reading →. More by Mark Steve.

I bought a tablet computer with a pen. Here are the results. Navel-gazing, self-referential comic about making comics? Ok, if you insist. In other news, a couple of weeks ago I won best young person’s comic at the British Comics Awards for my book, Star Cat. Woo! I had already drawn most of this comic before that or I would have made narcissism waaay bigger. That’s about right. Posted at 2:21 PM.
