While we are reviewing our market outlook of last week, it is worth reinforcing our recommendation for growers to take some forward cover when prices are good. As also observed last week, the wool market has a habit of disappointing sellers and often there is no prior warning. This week’s retraction is a sobering reminder, and makes the Minimum Price Contracts traded last week look even more attractive. You tell...

http://www.mecardo.com.au/commodities/wool/analysis/where-does-crossbred-wool-come-from.aspx
Brought to you by. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Where does crossbred wool come from? By Andrew Woods, ICS. Source: IWTO, FLA, Cape Wools, AWEX. Australia is a major contributor to crossbred wool, along with China, South America, Spain and perhaps the CIS (if its production numbers are genuine). As crossbred wool is sourced from many regions, it is less of a hostage to changes in production in Australian than merino wool. New Zealand is a small supplier of crossbred wool, with carpet wool its major output.
