MEEMAW MOMENTS: August 2014
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Sunday, August 31, 2014. 2014 Week 35: Pain, Pets, Problems, and Precious Ones. Mike tried another therapy session in Indy. He continues to have recurring episodes of excruciating hip pain which limits or interrupts exercise or physical activity. I loved this scene at Stephan's that evening, everyone enjoying one another's company while waiting for dinner, and Nova the cat surrounded by light, laughter and love. Ah, the life of a pet! His new home is with our former consuegra.

MEEMAW MOMENTS: December 2014
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. 2014 Week 52: Christmas Traditions. How to summarize a very full week of extended Christmas celebrations? Perhaps by listing the traditions we hold dear. We decorate our homes. Ornaments bring back meaningful memories that lead to special reflections. I found one sent to us years ago from Pakistan just as we were hearing about the horrendous murder of school children. We send and receive greetings. We have special food traditions. We introduced the ...

MEEMAW MOMENTS: 2015 Week 29:
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2015/07/2015-week-29.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Near daily rainstorms keep the outdoor plants and birds happy. Flood warnings are frequent. However, the hot weather is here and it feels like summer has finally arrived. This indoor plant was not happy having outgrown its special pot- the last remaining piece from my parents' tea set from when I was a very small child. It has served many purposes, bears scars and stains, has lost its bonnet, but holds many memories. And Kayla posted the following:. This ...

MEEMAW MOMENTS: July 2015
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Sunday, July 26, 2015. 2015 Week 30: Visitor and Conference. We had a special visitor from the Basque Country stay with us a couple days. We drove around to each of our family members' homes. They've all moved since Irati was here last. First we stopped to see Leah. Next, Kayla. . . But the little munchkin stole the show. Then we went to Stephan and Karen's "farm" and as cute and soft as the bunnies were, Irati was not very interested. It's summer" (from movie Frozen. Looks like...

MEEMAW MOMENTS: April 2015
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. 2015 Week 17: Off to St. Louis. This week was consumed with either preparing for or intensely living the 2015 FIRST World Championship. When the parents and mentors met there was an exciting reveal- all the money was in for the trip! They put decals on the trailer and packed all the equipment. Very early we boarded the LightRider. We arrived safely shortly after noon and had a tour of the St. Louis Christian College. Where we stayed for three nights.

MEEMAW MOMENTS: July 2014
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Sunday, July 27, 2014. 2014 Week 30: Summer Days. As I write it is raining and the sun is shining through the trees. It is definitely summer, although we haven't felt the heat as much as other years. I may have heard that it will go down as the coolest July on record. True? However, when we walk out our front door we are confronted by a canopy of green. Mike got back into experimenting in the kitchen again, i.e. cooking, always trying something new. Creating art out of sand.

MEEMAW MOMENTS: May 2015
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Sunday, May 31, 2015. 2015 Week 22: Endings and Beginnings. The view from my writing area is totally filled in. For a few weeks now I haven't been able to see the neighbors, nor do I have to close the shutters to block the glare of the sunset. The hummingbirds are my new entertainment, but impossible to capture photographically. Here is my one successful attempt. We had our joint birthday celebration at Sam and Kristie's. I had made Mike's favorite, a blitz torte. Michael has ha...

MEEMAW MOMENTS: March 2015
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Sunday, March 29, 2015. 2015 Week 13: Remembering . . . This week brought back a flood of memories almost as thick as the snow that fell suddenly Monday afternoon. When it was time for the exercise hour for seniors at the Gray Barn, the accumulation was almost 2" deep. Memories brought on by the anniversary of a death and the passing of another grandparent. Great grandpa Koch with Malachi, 2000. Now, some current photos from our Friday. A first selfie with abuela. Mike was gone ...

MEEMAW MOMENTS: 2015 Week 20: Plodding
http://meemaw-rita.blogspot.com/2015/05/2015-week-20-plodding.html
Reflexiones de la abuela. Sunday, May 17, 2015. 2015 Week 20: Plodding. Twas a more tranquil week of keeping on keeping on, much as my turtle collection reminds me to do. Here's my latest little tortoise, crafted by daughter Leah. The place mat is for spatial reference and its message speaks of how faithful plodding is interspersed with moments of happiness, love, and joy. They recently brought back a second adoptee from China to complete their family of seven. Photo borrowed from Facebook). Evenings....
