August 18, 2015. When I was in Peru, we visited the Chauchilla cemetery near Nazca. The bodies are preserved due to the dry climate in the Peruvian desert. They were clothed in cotton, then painted with a resin and kept in tombs made from mud bricks. The mummies still have their hair and skin. August 17, 2015.
