Life on our small farm in Southern Indiana. Friday, May 21, 2010. Well, it has come down to this…. I have decided to cease writing posts on this blog. When I started this blog it was only supposed to be related to the happenings on the farm, but I cannot seem to avoid commenting on political and news stories. As previously posted. I gave in a while back and created Facebook and Twitter accounts; in short, all of my future social networking will not include a blog. I have a Facebook page ( Jacob Phillips.

Life on our small farm in Southern Indiana. Saturday, December 26, 2009. Recently I completed a project, one which I should have done many months ago. A goat stand is used for securing them so you can milk them or (in my case) work on their hooves, ear tags, etc…. I am still not real happy with the locking mechanism I have (for locking the two neck boards together), but overall I am pleased with the way it turned out. Posted by Liberty Pastures. Liberty Pastures: - government style math?
http://lpfarm.blogspot.com/2010/05/government-style-math.html
Life on our small farm in Southern Indiana. Monday, May 3, 2010. General Motors paid back its loan in full and ahead of schedule? Not exactly. Now that they are owned by the federal government, they are operating just like the federal government. Hey, since GM is majority owned by the taxpayers, will I be getting a dividend check each quarter? If you buy a new GM vehicle you are simply supporting and enabling them in their road to ruin. Life on our small farm in Southern Indiana. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. The life cycle of our turkey. Last summer we purchased 3 turkey poults; only two. Made it out of the brooder to the field, and only one made it to adulthood. While we enjoyed having her around, we never lost sight of her real purpose for being on the farm - food. And purchase some from us. :-). After just arriving at Liberty Pastures. Running free in the field. Protecting the farm against a new "intruder". Posted by Liberty Pastures.

As you can see, they have not completely lost all of their winter coat. Posted by Liberty Pastures. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Well, it has come down to this…. The Ag Commissioner I want. For PE (physical education) we don’t send them out to an asphalt lot to play dodge-ball; instead our whole family heads to the local mountain bike park. In this case we went to Wapahani Trail. Life on our small farm in Southern Indiana. Monday, September 28, 2009. After several days of non-stop rain, I woke up to a perfectly clear sky this morning. It is a beautiful sunny day, but it was fairly windy last night. As you have seen in in the previous post, I have been using our sun canopy as a make-shift garage for my tractor. As I was admiring the sunrise this morning, I noticed that something was missing. Posted by Liberty Pastures. Keep it simple stupid. Posted by Liberty Pastures. Over the pa...

Life on our small farm in Southern Indiana. Monday, October 26, 2009. Applebees and Veterans Day. Well, I guess I was kidding myself in thinking that I could have a blog that was dedicated only to our farm and our new mid-western lifestyle. I still intend to keep my original focus, but my convictions will force me to occasionally comment on other topics which will probably have to do with the military in some regard. This evening, I read an article at Military.com. Posted by Liberty Pastures. I am being ...
