Running with the Runner Girl: May 2013
http://runningwiththerunnergirl.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Running with the Runner Girl. Random ramblings about running and life. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Bloomsday (aka Spa Weekend). It's been almost a month now, but the first weekend in May my parents and I took off for Spokane for the annual Lilac Bloomsday 12K run. I have run this one six times now! It's "only" 12K (7.46 miles), but it is one of the biggest road races in the country and I've always enjoyed the junket to Spokane. Beautiful view of the Columbia River from the roadside stop. I love the Bloomsday ...

Running with the Runner Girl. Random ramblings about running and life. Monday, December 15, 2014. What I Listen to When I Am Running. I confess, I. Like to be entertained when I am running. I really don't enjoy listening to the sound of my breath and footsteps. Plus I like distractions to pass the time. I mean, I like running, but I also like to be done running, and if my iPod can make me feel like I'm done sooner, all the better. And started downloading books to listen to during long runs. I'll list...

Running at the end of the world, part II. Preparing for lift off. I woke up right on schedule at 5 something, my watch alarm going off first and then I turned off the phone alarm before it went off two minutes later (yeah, total runner’s OCD here). It was a perfect chilly and cloudy New England morning, a day ideal for racing. My prep schedule came in handy as I mindlessly moved down the list in my half awakeness, half anxiousness:. Wow, could I fake it more for the camera? View my complete profile.

Running at the end of the world, part III. For reference, here is a course map:. Heading out from Bar Harbor was wonderful. Although this was a small race (just under 1000 runners) there was a great crowd of loud and enthusiastic spectators right at the start. But within the first half mile we were already out of town passing fields and starting the first climb of the race. Ok I may have heavy handed that. I’ll just take the points on my poetic license and move on. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
