Day 11: Tel Aviv. June 28, 2015. Day 11 was our last full day in Israel. We woke up around 7 for breakfast at 8 and departed afterward for volunteering. Following our volunteer visit, we drove through a poorer area of southern Tel Aviv to observe the poverty situation. We then went to Independence Hall and learned the story of Israel beginnings. This was much the same as the last time I was in Israel. After lunch, we went to the beach and spent a few hours in the sand and water. I got some minor stin...

Day 3: Shabbat | Sam's Blog

http://blog.samuelkarp.com/2015/06/day-3-shabbat

June 21, 2015. Lunch consisted of a beef stew, pasta, and french fries. After lunch, we had a session on Jewish identity. It was really interesting to hear how others in the group identified with Judaism and what they were looking to gain out of the trip. In Tiberias, we went to dinner at a restaurant and then I was dragged to loudest club in existence. I think I escaped with my hearing, but my ears did hurt for a while. When we got back to the kibbutz, that ended the day and I went to sleep. Email check...

Day 5: Rafting and the Golan Heights | Sam's Blog

Day 5: Rafting and the Golan Heights. June 23, 2015. Today we left Hakuk Balev. We woke up early enough to load the bus at 7:15 and departed at 8. Our first stop of the day was a nature hike. It was pretty, but not very long or strenuous. We then left for rafting. I was in a group of three and we rated for about 2 hours (getting stuck a lot along the way). We finally got to the end and left for our next activity. Our lodging for the night is Kibbutz Tzuba, which I stayed at last time I was in Israel.

Day 1: LAX to Madrid, Madrid to Tel Aviv. June 19, 2015. Today marks the first day of the trip! Most of the action is going to be dominated by some long flights; LAX to Tel Aviv with a layover in Madrid. I’ll be flying an airline that is new to me: Iberia Airlines. And eventually we went to the gate. For some reason (my guess is that Iberia only operates one flight out of LAX), the plane did not actually park at the gate. We got on a bus and then drove across the tarmac to this weird building tha...On th...

Day 9: Jerusalem (part 3) | Sam's Blog

Day 9: Jerusalem (part 3). June 27, 2015. Breakfast on day 9 was at 7:30, so we got to sleep a bit more than the previous day. Our first stop was Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum. The museum was pretty powerful. I was definitely affected by images of malnourished bodies. The most meaningful part for me was the room at the end where they collect the names of as many victims as possible. Day 8: Masada and the Dead Sea. Day 10: Jerusalem (part 4) and Tel Aviv nightlife. Functional beauty, by Samuel Ericson

Random thoughts from a Swedish interaction designer. April 20, 2016. September 15, 2014.

Friday July 18th, 2014. Treats us to a gravity defying editorial photographed by Erich McVey, who’s lens captures a Samuelle Couture bride in feather light tulle capable of flight. Ginny Au, the stylist of this angelic shoot, says it best:. Alate: (adj.) having wings; lifted up in flight. Using this beautiful word as my source of inspiration I imagined a gown that was capable of femininity and movement. This stunning Samuelle Couture gown literally took flight on the cliff…. Posted by Samuel Levy a few years ago. In my current role at cpap.com, I'm working on improving the workflow of our small development team. We made the switch from SVN to git a couple of years ago, but the tools we had available at the time didn't really support us well, so we had to fight to stop using git like we used SVN.
